Time your reading, let Kindle sessions log themselves, keep the lines worth keeping — and now, a candle on your home screen. No ads. No streaks. No noise.
You've tracked hundreds of books and remember almost none of them. Somewhere between the star ratings and the to-read pile, the reading itself went missing. Saga is for readers who want it back — the hours, the lines, the words, and the people who read alongside them.
Saga turns reading into something you keep. Start a session and the timer runs while you read — on your lock screen, beside a small candle. Note the sentences that stay with you. Look up a word and it is yours for good. Close the book, mark it finished, and the friends who read with you will know. It is the quiet social life of a reader, without the ads, the noise, or the leaderboards.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Time your reading sessions — the timer lives on your lock screen while you read
• Reading on Kindle? Connect it once, and Saga offers to log that reading too — everything stays on your phone
• Take notes and look up words without leaving the page
• Follow friends and watch a calm feed of the books they are living in
• Start a book club — a candle lights as each of you finishes
• Set a weekly goal — hours to aim for, not a streak to defend
• Keep your whole reading history, gathered and beautifully kept
• Dark by candlelight or a warm paper light — your choice
• One notification, ever: when a friend finishes a book
Reading has always been a solitary thing that readers somehow do together. Saga is the room where that happens — calm, quiet, and built for the long haul. Open a book tonight, press the candle, and let the years begin to add up.
This is such a fun app! It keeps me going on my reading goals and it’s a fun way to stay social as someone who loves to read a lot. It’s both aesthetic and easy to use which I appreciate a lot!
Mildly Annoying

Whenever I am trying to log a book or “switch book” on the candle icon, it starts a timer instead of manually entering a past session. This is an especially important ux for readers who read multiple books. Theres no way to swipe to another book to log. I can’t also find the button to log a past session for a specific book after clicking its title on my profile. Theres no search feature or anything either. Hard to navigate forces you to see a feed, log one/1st book, and add book to reading read or etc

Hi! This issue should be fixed on iPad now. Please make sure you are on the most recent version of the app so that you get these changes. We also added a central book search feature! If you have any other feedback, just leave a comment for @emer on Saga. Appreciate any and all feedback as we keep developing the app :)
What goodreads could’ve been

I love this app so far. Made me want to re-read all the old books I love. It has a very clean and beautiful design. Sharing with all of my friends.

This is exactly why Saga exists!
Saga 1.3
• A home-screen widget — your current book and a week of candles, at a glance. Long-press your home screen → + → Saga.
• Pause from the lock screen — the reading timer now pauses and resumes right on the Live Activity (iOS 17 and up).
• Photos post exactly as you shot them — no more cropping.
• Book clubs, easier — search any reader when inviting, and add people after the club exists.
• A tidier feed, faster libraries, and polish throughout.
