NEW — Verified redactions After you export, Redactor re-reads the finished image and checks whether any text is still legible inside a redacted area. If something survived, it tells you exactly what — so you find out before you send it, not after. NEW — Smarter auto-detect Detection now targets individual words instead of whole lines, so redacting one email no longer blacks out the sentence around it. Card numbers are checksum-validated, which means far fewer false alarms on order and tracking numbers. NEW — Private in the app switcher Your screenshot is now hidden when you switch apps. NEW — See what was removed The export screen names the metadata stripped from your image: location, device, capture time. FIXED — An important privacy fix JPG exports could retain the original photo's metadata, including location. They no longer do. If you've shared JPGs from an earlier version, consider re-exporting them. What's New in Version 1.3 Before & After Preview Compare your redacted image against the original before exporting — tap "Original" or "Redacted" at the top of the Export screen to toggle between them. Copy to Clipboard Export directly to the clipboard with one tap. Paste your redacted screenshot straight into Messages, Mail, or any other app. Zoom to Detection When scan finds sensitive information, tap the focus icon on any result to jump directly to that item on the image — no more hunting for it manually. Improved Export Experience The app will occasionally ask you to rate Redactor after a successful export. Your feedback helps keep the app growing — thank you!

Version 1.2 Redactor can now automatically find sensitive information in your screenshots — no manual hunting required. Quick Scan (new) Tap the search icon to scan any screenshot for emails, phone numbers, credit card numbers, student IDs, and URLs. Detected items are highlighted directly on your image in seconds. Review before you redact Every detection is presented in a review panel so you stay in control. Accept the ones you want to redact, ignore the rest, or dismiss the whole scan — nothing is applied without your approval. Choose your redaction style When applying detected items, pick Black Bar, Blur, or Pixelate right from the detection panel — independent of your main tool selection. Overlay toggle Hide or show detection highlights on the canvas without losing your review results. All processing is on-device. Detected overlays are never included in exported images.
