FileMelt 1.1.2 improves safety and metadata control when optimizing files. Office documents now preserve embedded image metadata by default unless metadata stripping is selected, Save As respects the Replace Only If Smaller setting when targeting an existing file, and ZIP archive creation now fails safely when an archive would require ZIP64 support instead of producing invalid output.

Version 1.1.1 improves FileMelt’s Save As flow and file detection accuracy. Saved outputs now keep follow-up actions, previews, reveal actions, and receipts pointed at the final user-selected file instead of the temporary staged output. Receipts are written beside the saved file with the correct output name. FileMelt also now checks high-confidence file signatures before trusting compound archive extensions, so misleading filenames like .tar.zst are handled more safely when the file contents are actually a PDF, PNG, or another supported format.

FileMelt 1.1.0 improves output safety and release transparency. This update preserves your selected overwrite policy during compression runs, prevents Save As from changing validated outputs to the wrong file type, and protects existing destination files by replacing them only after the new saved copy is ready. Settings also now include release notes so version changes are easier to review inside the app.
