The best n back app I have tried out of like 5. I haven’t been using long, about a week, and have only unlocked quad n back. It is feature rich and seems to be completely free as advertised. I would rate it 5 stars but have come across one issue and one missing feature so far holding it back. The triple n back mode that utilizes color, one of the colors is red and one is pink, among others like green, blue, purple, yellow. The red and pink are way too similar. I’m not sure how this made it in to be honest. The test is about memory, not discerning colors. Use white or orange or anything that isn’t so close. Also, it should allow mixing and matching variables. Let me play triple mode but with position, audio, and shape, instead of color. Also, having color as the third mode as it stands makes it so color blind people are at a disadvantage. I see no benefit to having the modes locked as they are currently. Love the app and looking forward to updates and improvements.

Both of the things you asked for are done.The red/pink clash is gone — the palette was rebuilt so no two colours read alike at speed. And you can now mix and match streams freely: triple with position, audio and shape, no colour at all if you'd rather. That was your second point, and it solves the colour-blindness problem you flagged too. Seven streams to choose from: position, audio, colour, shape, quantity, size, border.The Lab's 10 games are also fully free and unlimited now.This is the most useful review the app has had — specific, fair, and every line of it was actionable. If anything else is missing, tell me.

After playing literally all the n-back games on the App Store this is truly the best one made. Will there ever be a Game Center/leaderboard integration? Would love to compare stats with my friends. Apart from the social aspect it would greatly enhance the game if there was a daily game tracker for streaks for accomplishing certain daily goals
