Nearby This Week (DayBoard Host) now shows how far each event is from your place, like "0.4 mi away", finds more of what's on in your own neighborhood, and lists every event for the rest of the stay. Update DayBoard Companion on your iPhone too.

A big update for DayBoard on Apple TV. Host Mode • Nearby This Week: local events for the rest of a guest's stay (farmers markets, festivals, live music and family events), labelled On now, Today or by day, each with a code for directions. • Per-stay arrival greetings and instructions, readiness checklists, setup templates and a multi-property overview, all set up in DayBoard Companion. • Guest Preview, and an iCloud backup of each TV's setup. DayBoard Plus • Personalized household calendar views and highlight colors. • Daily routines with optional step timers and stars. • The DayBoard Signature photo wall theme. Everyday • Faster syncing: after the first sync, only new or changed events are downloaded. • Calendars marked Busy show the time without the details. • The month view shows three events a day; select a day for its full agenda. • Imported work events have their own calendar, and DayBoard says if a TV is hiding them. • A refreshed graphite and silver design. Update DayBoard Companion on your iPhone too.

Updated App Store screenshots showcase DayBoard's calendars, photo wall, family features and guest experience. This release keeps the app experience you already know.

- Birthday spotlight (DayBoard Plus): on a birthday or a Family Board countdown's big day, the TV celebrates with a full-screen card in the morning. - Chore stars (DayBoard Plus): a weekly leaderboard and streaks over the Family Board's chores. - Host Mode (DayBoard Host): codes guests scan for directions to your favorite places and your house manual, and a review request on checkout morning. - Subscribe on your iPhone: DayBoard Plus or Host bought in the free DayBoard Companion app now unlocks this Apple TV. Plans on the TV still work as before, and can be shared with Family Sharing. - Settings › System shows whether this Apple TV has DayBoard Plus and DayBoard Host, each a step away from subscribing.

- Photo dates and locations now appear on a gold plaque mounted on the bottom of the picture frame, with engraved-style text and inset screws. The plaque fits its caption, staying compact for short labels and within the frame for longer captions. - Settings are organized into Photos, Calendar, Appearance, and System, with frequently used actions kept directly accessible. - Improved remote navigation and focus restoration when returning from settings and selectors. - Hide Calendar is now the first quick action on the main screen.

See whether iCloud Photos is still downloading to your Apple TV. Under Refresh Photos, DayBoard now shows how many photos and albums this Apple TV has, what has arrived in the last few minutes, and, if nothing has changed for a while, which setting to check. Some older Apple TVs don't share albums with apps at all; DayBoard now says so and points you to Photos from iPhone.

The DayBoard dashboard is now free for everyone, and two optional plans add more: - DayBoard Host: Host Mode turns a rental's TV into a welcome screen, with each guest's name, a Wi-Fi join code, checkout steps and your house guide, driven by your Airbnb, VRBO or Booking.com calendar. - DayBoard Plus: the Family Board (tick off chores right on the TV), the Gallery of museum masterpieces, and 50 Photos from iPhone per TV. Find them on the TV under Plans, at the bottom of the calendar panel. Also new: - Dashboard View: switch between Calendar, Gallery & Clock, Family DayBoard and Host Mode in one step. - Albums in shelves you scroll with the remote. - Outside the dashboard schedule, any remote button brings DayBoard back for an hour. - A finer Liquid Glass frost control.

• Adaptive Lighting: the wall follows the real sun — neutral through the day, golden toward sunset, rose and then blue at dusk — with window light that moves across the wall as the day goes on. Turn it on under Appearance. • Wall Depth: the wallpaper now sits back behind the glass like a deep, softly rounded niche, with your photo and clock floating in front of it. You can switch it off under Appearance.

• Photos from iPhone: show photos chosen in DayBoard Companion on this TV — handy when the Apple TV's own iCloud Photos won't load. Choose them in DayBoard Companion, in your TV's settings. • When no photos are available, the wall now shows your wallpaper instead of a loading screen.

Match My Wall: photograph the wall behind your Apple TV from the iPhone app and DayBoard rebuilds its colour, its texture, and even a repeating wallpaper pattern behind the picture frame, so the frame looks like it is hanging on your wall. A dashboard schedule keeps DayBoard up on the days and hours you choose and shows a dark screen the rest of the time. Liquid Glass now has an opacity control that runs from frosted all the way to fully clear. Every wallpaper is now 4K and grouped by style, with two new scenic additions. Fixes the on-screen controls not responding after switching back from another app while the calendar was hidden.

A Liquid Glass option makes the calendar panel translucent over your photo wall. New Text Settings let you pick the dashboard's typeface — San Francisco, New York, SF Rounded, Avenir Next, Futura or Helvetica Neue — alongside the text colour. The wall clock now centres itself against the picture frame rather than a fixed position, so it stays balanced whatever shape your photo is. You can also remove screenshot-imported work events from a single Apple TV.

Adds an elegant optional wall clock when the calendar is hidden, brings photo-wall themes, backgrounds, custom colors, and frame finishes into one appearance screen, and keeps photo location and date labels centered beneath the frame. This update also includes calendar, slideshow, and synchronization reliability improvements.

You can now remove work-calendar events that were imported from a screenshot from a single Apple TV, leaving your other TVs and your iPhone untouched. A matching control puts them back if you change your mind.

Calendars now keep their own colors on the dashboard, so events from every calendar you turn on are distinguishable instead of all sharing one color. The month calendar is properly modal, so the remote reaches its controls and Menu returns you to the dashboard. Photo albums keep retrying until they arrive from iCloud instead of getting stuck on 'Finding your albums'. Faster syncing when several Apple TVs are paired.
