LanScan Pro is a clean, straightforward network utility built natively for macOS to help you inspect and troubleshoot local networks without resorting to clumsy CLI scripts. It is designed to give developers and IT professionals an instant, organized overview of active hosts, open ports, and broadcasted services.
What you can do with LanScan Pro:
• IPv4 & IPv6 Scanning: Scan network segments using automatic detection or define explicit custom IP ranges. View live ping statuses and track historical "Last Seen" timestamps for IPv6 link-local addresses.
• Port Auditing: Toggle port scanning for active hosts using preset groupings (Common, Extended) or pass your own comma-separated list of custom ports to check for open services.
• Detailed Metadata Grid: Get a clear breakdown of discovered hosts. The data grid maps out IPv4/IPv6 addresses, hostnames, MAC addresses, hardware vendors, specific device identification, DNS/mDNS names, and SMB names/domains.
• Deep mDNS & Bonjour Inspection: A dedicated discovery pane maps out every broadcasted service on your network (like AirPlay, local servers, or network storage).
• Targeted Service Filtering: Use the sidebar to filter services by type—such as File Sharing (SMB, AFP, FTP, NFS) or Web Access (HTTP, HTTPS). You can also type in custom service protocols (e.g., _mqtt._tcp) to track down specific development instances.
• Fast Data Filtering: Quickly isolate your view using the built-in "All / Online / Offline" toggles, or use the real-time search bar to filter your active table by IP, name, MAC address, or vendor.
No tracking, just a native Mac app that gives you the exact network state when you're debugging or configuring local environments.
