New in 1.8.0 • Top 10: a new daily. Name all ten on a ranked list before your three lives run out. • Draft: spin real Premier League seasons, take one player from each, and watch your eleven play a 38-game season. • Mystery Player, rebuilt: every guess tells you why it is close, clues unlock as you go, and the reveal shows the whole career. • Footle hard mode: switch it on and only real footballers' names count. • Daily 7 now mixes easier and harder questions every day. • Transfer Trail has more than twice as many careers. • Thirteen new club quizzes, from Millwall to Al Ahly. • Hundreds of answers now come with a short explanation, plus a long list of fixes across the app.

Ten new club quizzes: São Paulo, Grêmio, Internacional and Cruzeiro from Brazil, Club América, Chivas and Cruz Azul from Mexico, and Racing Club, Independiente and San Lorenzo from Argentina. Your Ball IQ card now shows your friends exactly the rating you see. We sharpened questions where the wrong options gave the answer away. Plus smaller fixes throughout.

Your Ball IQ card is rebuilt. The six ratings now come from the questions you actually answered, and your own league leads the card — tap it to pick another. Ratings were recalibrated, so your number may have moved. Hard questions count for more now. Accuracy counts real answers only, and your day streak no longer vanishes on a new device. Yesterday's puzzles are playable from History, and results stay on screen with a reminder for tomorrow. Plus a new look and a long list of fixes.

You now stay signed in when you update the app — no more surprise login screens. Your player card shows the same rating to you and to friends who visit your profile. Ratings now follow your current form, and hard questions count for more than easy ones. Daily reminders arrive at your usual playing time. Plus small layout and stability fixes.

• Footle: fixed the ENTER key sitting off-screen on some phones • Rematches fixed — ready up and go again in the same room • Cleaner lobby and game-over screens • Streak shields now visible on your results • Question improvements and bug fixes

One new mode, a rating card worth sending, and a long list of rough edges you told us about. • Your Ball IQ card — rebuilt. One rating, a bronze, silver or gold tier, and your six competitions broken out. Save it as an image or send it straight to the group chat: the card your friends see is the card sitting on your profile. • Stadiums — a new mode. Name every ground in five leagues, from memory. Clubs carry their own colors now, and you can hide them for a harder run. • Everyone gets their own look. Players without a photo no longer share the same gray circle. • Transfer Trail and Mystery Player — the keyboard no longer sits on top of the list of names. Drag the list and it gets out of your way. • Names are accepted the way you would actually type them, including names like Son Heung-min. • Club Quiz is grouped by country now, so your club is where you would look for it. • Switching tabs is instant. • Reporting a question asks what was wrong with it — the answer, the wording, or that it gave itself away. • The moment right after you answer looks like part of the game again, instead of a form error. • Every button acknowledges your tap. • A club appearing twice in a career is marked as a return, so it no longer reads as a mistake. • Footle asks for "the name a footballer goes by", because sometimes it is Pelé. Thank you to everyone who flagged a bad question. Every one of them was read.

Mystery Player and Transfer Trail are now part of your daily four. • Start typing a name in either game and pick it from a ranked list. No more spelling a player perfectly just to make a guess. • A sharper Mystery Player ranking. Era now counts, so a keeper from the answer's own generation reads as close as he should be. • Thousands of players were listed with a club they had already left. Their current clubs are now correct. • Fixed a bug that could leave the app stuck on the loading screen with no connection.

TRANSFER TRAIL — A NEW DAILY GAME A player's career is revealed one club at a time and you name him before the trail runs out. The fewer clubs you need, the more points you get. New player every day. CLUB QUIZZES NO LONGER SPOIL THEMSELVES Two questions in the same round could hand each other the answer away. It was happening in more than a quarter of club sessions. Now it happens in none. TWO NEW CLUB PACKS Santos and Real Sociedad, checked question by question like every other pack. QUESTIONS THAT CAN'T GO STALE Records and all-time leaders are now tied to a date, so the day a record falls, a right answer doesn't quietly turn into a wrong one. ALSO - A clearer home screen: the modes you actually play sit above the ones you don't - Fixes to the profile screen and general polish throughout

Faster start — onboarding is a single screen now, so you are playing within seconds instead of tapping through setup. Footle opens straight on the puzzle. The explainer is gone (the board teaches itself), and every answer is now 5-8 letters. Online multiplayer earns XP toward your level — it was the only mode that paid nothing. Rematch and Challenge now tell you whether your opponent was actually notified, instead of leaving you waiting in an empty lobby. Plus 329 fact-checked corrections across the question bank, a wider Footle keyboard, higher contrast text, and tap anywhere to continue once you have answered.

A big batch of new club quizzes! Test your football knowledge on Celtic, Rangers, Feyenoord, PSV, Besiktas, Trabzonspor, Club Brugge, Red Star Belgrade, Dinamo Zagreb, Basel and more — across new leagues and countries. Plus a round of fixes and polish to make sharing and everyday play smoother. Got a club you want to see next? Tell us — we're adding more all the time!

Straight into the game The app now opens on a question, not an intro. Tap Skip and you're playing. Everyone gets the same Daily 7 The daily seven are now identical for every player on every device, so challenge links finally compare like for like. Reminders actually arrive now If you'd turned notifications on, they weren't firing. They are now. Rules, everywhere Every mode has a how-to-play button. Footle explains itself the first time. Also: friend invites drop you straight into the lobby, the app is dark-only, and a long list of small things stopped being broken.

Sharper questions, smoother game: • 165+ new "Why?" explanations on hard questions — learn something from every miss • Accuracy pass across the entire question bank — records and stats verified and refreshed • Fairer online multiplayer: server-checked answers and time-checked Survival eliminations • VoiceOver support across timers, results and Footle • Fixed Survival personal-best tracking and a misbehaving Share button • Smaller download, faster startup, stability improvements
