RecordGuard is a small Mac utility that records local backup audio tracks while you use your normal recorder.
It is useful when you record with tools such as QuickTime, OBS, Loom, Zoom, or ScreenFlow and want separate safety tracks for system audio and microphone audio.
What it does:
- Records Mac system audio as a local backup track.
- Records microphone audio as a separate local backup track.
- Saves standard local audio files you can inspect or import into an editor.
- Shows setup checks, live activity, and a result audit after each run.
What it does not do:
- It is not a screen recorder.
- It does not upload your audio.
- It does not record protected media intentionally.
- It is not designed for hidden recording.
- It does not guarantee recovery of every failed recording.
Use RecordGuard with ordinary, non-sensitive content first so you can confirm that your Mac, microphone, and recording route behave as expected.
