Snack App: Exercise Reminders
Move more throughout the day
Free · In‑App Purchases
Snack App nudges you to move - then helps you build a lasting habit.
An "exercise snack" is a short bout of movement: a set of push-ups, a quick walk, a minute of stretching. Done a few times a day, they add up. Snack App is the gentle nudge that makes them happen - and helps you build the habit, one snack at a time.
• Reminders that fit your day. Pick an interval and active hours - Snack App prompts you to take a movement break, and stays quiet outside your window.
• Log it in a tap. Choose from a built-in exercise library (or add your own), and capture reps, weight, distance, duration, and more.
• Goals & streaks. Hit your daily snack goal, build a streak, and keep the momentum going - with a little confetti when you do.
• Apple Health. Pull in your workouts automatically.
Private by design. No account, no ads, no tracking, never sold. Your data lives on your device - back it up to your own cloud whenever you like.
Small movements, all day, add up to real change.
more It’s a good reminder that a little goes a long way. I also like the custom aspect; it’s just as easy to log one squat as compared to fifty.
Developer Response Thanks so much, I couldn't have put it better myself - a little does go a long way. I'm happy that you found logging easy to use. That was one of my main goals when building the app.If you ever have a suggestion to make the app work better for you, please feel free to email me at: help@getsnack.app

Exercise goals don't have to be every day anymore:
- Pick how many days a week a goal is for - like running 3 days per week. The ring fills as your week does, and turns gold when you hit your target.
- Weeks run Monday to Sunday, and a goal's history now groups by week so you can see how each one went.
Clearer goals and streaks:
- Goal cards now say what they mean - "12 of 30 push-ups today" - and each goal's page states the goal plainly.
- Rest days are visible now: a card appears when your streak uses one, and a new Grace period setting in Settings lets you choose how many days off your streak absorbs. No need to pause it manually.
- Your recent average now appears next to the daily goal setting, with one tap to use it as your goal.
Also:
- New exercises: Housework, Yardwork, Gardening, and Single-Leg Romanian Deadlift. Movement in daily life counts.
- Your watch complication now updates when you log on your iPhone, without opening the watch app.
- A "Back to top" button on long History and Bests lists.
- Fixed menu actions occasionally not firing after closing a snack's menu.
- Fixed a keyboard toolbar that could be left floating over the screen.
2.0.2 1d ago
Your reminder schedule now works with your streak, not against it:
- Days you take off (like weekends) no longer break your streak. A day without reminders counts as rest, not a miss.
- New users start with weekday reminders. You can add weekends back anytime in Settings.
On your Apple Watch:
- New watch-face complication: your progress ring, right on the face. Add it from the complication picker.
- Hitting your daily goal from the wrist now celebrates the moment - confetti and a double haptic on the watch.
- Logging from the watch shows a quick confirmation.
- Fixed the watch showing a stale snack count after logging away from your iPhone.
- Fixed the complication staying at zero while the watch app showed the right count.
Also:
- If your trial ends, the paywall now offers "Export your data" right there - your history is always yours, in both formats.
- Fixed a "Streak not found" screen that could appear when returning to the app.
2.0.1 Aug 25
Snack App is now on your wrist.
The new Apple Watch app puts the whole loop on your watch:
- See your progress ring and both streak flames at a glance.
- Quick-add a snack with one tap. It syncs to your iPhone automatically.
- Adjust your daily goal, or pause and resume exercise goals.
- Reminders now fire on the watch itself, so a nudge still reaches you when your iPhone is off, charging, or in another room. Snooze, repeat your last snack, or take today off right from the notification.
Also in this update:
- Streak flames now show three states: muted before a streak, green while one is alive but not yet extended today, gold once today's snack lands.
- Repeat pills on the Add Snack screen say exactly what they'll log.
- A reminder that fails to schedule no longer stops the rest of the day's plan.
- Fixed the weekly backup nudge re-appearing sooner than it should.
2.0.0 Aug 20
Clearer streak labels.
- The two streak cards on Today now say what they count, above the number: "At least 1 snack for: 6 days" and "Achieved your goal for: 5 days".
- Previously the label sat under the count and read as a claim about today - a Goal streak card could say "Goal achieved" while also telling you to log one more.
- The Activity card now says "No snacks yet" before your first snack, instead of leaving the line blank.
1.6.4 Aug 15
Two streaks, so showing up always counts.
- New: your Activity streak - days in a row with at least 1 snack - now sits beside your Goal streak on the Today screen, so you can still see how many days in a row you've been active.
- Both streaks now show the date they started, and how much you have logged during them.
- Search your log by exercise, equipment, or note.
- Filter your personal bests by exercise.
- Fixed: weight records now count reps and per-side load, so "most weight" reflects what you actually lifted.
- Exercise goals can be deleted, not only archived.
- Searching a plural now works - "squats" finds Squat.
- New movements: Dragon Flag, Ab Wheel Rollout, Pallof Press, Hangboarding, and Edge Lift. Plus an "Other" choice in every equipment picker, for gear the list does not name.
- Reminders no longer mention a daily goal you have already reached.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.6.3 Aug 15
New movements you can do without leaving your chair.
- Five desk-friendly exercises: Seated Calf Raise, Isometric Neck Hold, Forearm Wall Breathing, Anti-Rotation Hold, and Cross Crawl. All are quiet, need no equipment, and work in office clothes.
- Exercises can now be filtered by a new Neck muscle group.
- Fixed: opening the log form from a reminder could leave it stuck open, with Cancel and swipe-down both doing nothing.
- Deleting several snacks in a row now collapses into a single Undo, instead of one toast per snack.
- Clearer wording on the backup screen shown during first-time setup.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.6.2 Aug 10
A small fixes release.
- Logging now asks for one detail when an exercise requires none, so a snack can no longer be saved completely empty. Anything counts - time, distance, reps, or a note.
- Links that open outside the app - our help pages, exercise how-to links, and "Contact us" - now tell you when they cannot open, instead of doing nothing. If no mail app is set up, "Contact us" copies the address to your clipboard so you can still reach us.
- Updates to the app's underlying framework.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.6.1 Aug 5
Reminders that fit your week:
- Choose which days reminders run, so weekends can look different from weekdays.
- Logging a snack now quiets the next reminder - no nudge right after you have already moved.
- Reminder actions now include "Change schedule," which opens your reminder settings directly.
New:
- Quick add on the Home screen: log one of your recent snacks in a single tap.
- Stats: lifetime totals, overall and per exercise.
- Personal bests now track your best single snack alongside your best day.
- Streak milestones are recognized as you reach them.
- "Copy this snack" replaces the old automatic prefill, so the form starts blank until you ask it to fill.
- Set your own default exercise for the Add Snack screen.
- Create a custom exercise without leaving the exercise picker.
- Swipe a snack in your log to repeat or delete it, and long-press a goal card for its actions.
- New in the exercise library: Climbing, with Bouldering and Sport Climbing variations, plus Bench Dip and dip station equipment. Climbing workouts from Apple Health import as Climbing.
Polish and fixes:
- Celebrations read as celebrations: one clear toast per logged snack, with your progress toward the day's goal on it.
- The progress ring turns gold when you reach your goal, not only when you exceed it, and its empty state is easier to see.
- A goal or streak earned from a reminder action now celebrates when you next open the app, instead of passing silently.
- Health imports attach the right equipment - stationary bike, bicycle, treadmill.
- Accessibility: improved VoiceOver order, focus, and announcements across onboarding, the snack form and log, goals, and the exercise picker.
- Restoring a backup now shows progress instead of briefly looking empty.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.6.0 Aug 3
In this update:
- The quick-repeat row on the Add Snack screen now shows your 5 most recent snacks, instead of 3, for improved usability.
- Wording and consistency polish across a few screens.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.5.9 Jul 27
In this update:
- New: swipe a snack in your log to repeat or delete it quickly - a faster way to log another round or fix a mistake.
- Fixed exercise search occasionally not showing a matching exercise.
- A rare crash fix and small polish.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.5.8 Jul 22
This update brings accessibility improvements and small polish:
- VoiceOver now reads the exercise name on each personal best, so every record makes sense on its own.
- Restoring a backup now shows a confirmation when it's done.
- Wording and polish fixes throughout.
Your data still lives only on your device, backed up only to your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.5.7 Jul 21
This update makes cloud backup more reliable, especially if you use Snack App on more than one device:
- Each device now keeps its own backups, so two devices sharing one iCloud will not overwrite each other's data.
- The app keeps several recent backup versions, so a bad or interrupted backup can't replace a good one.
- Restoring on a new phone now lets you choose which device's backup to restore (for example, "iPhone 15 Pro - 537 snacks - Jul 5").
Your backups still live only in your own iCloud. No account, no backend.
1.5.6 Jul 19
Two bigger things in this update:
- Export your data as a spreadsheet. Your snack log is yours - export it as a CSV and open it in Numbers, Excel, or Sheets to sort, chart, or keep your own copy. Free, anytime, from Settings -> Backup & export. No account, no lock-in.
- Better accessibility for low vision. Stronger color contrast (WCAG AA), larger touch targets, support for Reduce Motion, and layouts that stay usable at the largest text sizes - building on the app's existing VoiceOver support.
Plus smaller fixes and clearer wording around backup and export.
1.5.4 Jul 18
A small update to streaks, plus maintenance:
- Pause streak: the "Take today off" button is now "Pause streak," and it is easier to find on the Streaks tab. One tap pauses your streak and quiets reminders; everything resumes automatically the next time you log a snack.
- Under-the-hood library updates and fixes to keep things running smoothly.
1.5.3 Jul 17
A new look for the Today screen:
- Progress ring: the daily goal tile now shows the same progress ring as the Goals tab - watch it fill as you log snacks through the day.
- Streak flame: the streak tile has a new flame that lights up gold the moment today's snacks extend your streak.
- Tap through: the tiles are now shortcuts - tap the goal tile to manage your goals, or the streak tile to see your streak history.
1.5.2 Jul 14
This release is all about a calmer, friendlier day-to-day.
Fewer reminders: all done for the day? You can now mute reminders once you hit your daily goal.
Progress rings: goals now show a ring that fills as you go, in place of the old flat bars - easier to read at a glance.
A friendlier welcome: setup is now four short steps (your daily goal, your reminder schedule, notifications, and an optional private cloud backup), so you can customize the app to fit your needs. The backup step is opt-in and always to your personal iCloud.
Gentler confirmations: success messages have a softer, cleaner look, and the "goal met" celebration is clearer about why it fired.
More to log: a new posterior-chain group of exercises plus Roman chair and GHD equipment, and the exercise search now ranks the words you are typing first.
Plus: backup files from older versions of the app now restore correctly, a one-tap offer to turn on automatic backup after you reach a goal, tidier goal labels, and assorted small fixes.
1.5.1 Jul 13
Accessibility: Snack App now works fully with VoiceOver. Every screen has proper labels, roles, focus order, and reachable actions, so the whole app - logging a snack, setting goals, browsing history - is usable by touch and by voice.
Goals: pause and resume a goal when life gets in the way, without losing it. A new "Snacks" goal lets you count bouts of any exercise.
Faster logging: the log form now remembers your last entry for each exercise and prefills it, and the exercise picker opens to an A-Z list with a Recent section and variations grouped under their base.
A clearer welcome: setup now shows your reminder schedule up front - how often, when, and the streak reminder - so you can shape it before turning notifications on.
Plus: a refreshed typeface and calmer colors, a cleaner Settings screen, more exercises and equipment, split Goals / Snacks day cards on Home, a "Today" jump in History, safer cloud backups, and a gentler starting daily goal.
1.5.0 Jul 6
- Personal Bests no longer celebrates the first time you log an exercise - a first entry is a baseline, not a record.
- A streak that begins today now reads "Started today."
- The Reminders screen can show the exact times your snack reminders will fire (handy for intervals like 45 minutes).
- Added Swiss ball and Bosu ball to the equipment list.
- Set a goal straight from an exercise - and from a goal, jump to the exercise or log a snack in a tap.
1.4.4 Jun 24
- Your longest streak now appears on the Personal Bests screen - a consistency record alongside your exercise bests.
- Reminders are now Time Sensitive, so they come through even when a Focus or Do Not Disturb is on.
1.4.3 Jun 23
Imported Apple Health workouts now show distance in your preferred unit (miles or kilometers).
1.4.2 Jun 22
- Personal Bests: a new Bests tab tracks your best day for each exercise, with a little gold confetti when you set a new one.
- Daily summaries: a quick rollup of each past day's snacks on the Home screen and in History.
- Plus polish: clearer streak reminders, a simpler Streaks screen, a daily-goal step when you first set up the app, and small fixes (including decimal entry for distance and weight).
1.4.1 Jun 21
- Take today off: pause your streak for a rest day without breaking it.
- Pause and resume your streak anytime from the Streaks tab.
- Smarter reminders: the streak reminder stays quiet once you've hit your daily goal.
- More reliable reminder actions (Repeat last, Snooze) right from a notification.
- The weekly backup reminder now stays hidden when automatic iCloud backup is on.
- Added anonymous, optional usage stats to improve the app - turn off anytime in Settings.
- Fixes and polish throughout.
1.3.0 Jun 17
* Forgiving streaks: an occasional missed day now counts as a rest day, so one off day won't break your streak. Heading away for a while? Pause your streak and we'll hold it until you're back.
* Repeat your last snack straight from a reminder, in one tap.
* Automatic backup to your own iCloud, so your history is safe if you ever reinstall.
* Create your own custom exercises, and suggest ones you'd like added to the built-in library.
