• A redesigned app icon: an open book, with Dark, Clear and Tinted versions. • Margins can now go all the way to zero, and Reset Margins puts them back. • Floating reading controls are frosted, so they stay readable over text. • Dropbox and iCloud libraries load faster, and switching libraries is safe and calm, with one status line at the top. • Plain folders of ebooks now open from your NAS, Dropbox, iCloud Drive and OneDrive, even without a calibre library. • OneDrive sign-in and folder browsing are more reliable. • Covers for more books, including series titles. • iPad in landscape opens books as a two-page spread, iPad mini included. • On two-page spreads, tap the middle for the controls and the edges to turn the page. • A sample library of 8 classics to try the app without your own books. • Fixes for iPhone Duo, dark mode and labels.

• iPhone Duo: the book cover on the closed phone stays still when you tilt it, and folding shut while holding the phone sideways shows the cover upright. • iPhone Duo: unfolding while holding the phone sideways no longer leaves the open phone stuck in portrait, and no longer jumps to the wrong page. • iPhone Duo: the line you were reading stays the first line when you fold, unfold or turn the phone, and each way of holding it remembers its own layout. • Your reading place is kept through crashes, app updates and library switches, and leaving the app and coming back no longer moves you to earlier pages. • Turning back now curls the previous page in from the left, as smoothly as turning forward. Turning pages quickly no longer skips a chapter. • iPhone Duo, closed: swiping to turn the page works wherever on the page you start the swipe. • On iPhone, Back, Contents and Aa now sit in a small bar under the text, with your progress shown at the top. Tap the middle of the page to show or hide them. • New app icon, with Dark, Clear and Tinted versions to match your Home Screen. • New “Book’s own formatting” switch in Aa (off by default) shows the publisher’s styling. • Scrolling view: the end of a chapter is a firm stop; tap the edge of the page to go on. • Large libraries sync without freezing the app, books open reliably after an update, and removing a book no longer crashes the app. • Your own server (SMB) connects on the first try, OneDrive retries a book that failed mid-sync, and the app asks before replacing a different library found in the same place.
