When the free week on the Annual plan is available, the plans screen now shows the offer as soon as it opens, with no need to reopen the app. The lane departure warning now shows which way the car is drifting, and the hard braking warning is cleaner. Aegis Drive is an assistive tool: it does not drive for you and does not replace the driver's attention.

You can now try Premium free on the Annual plan, right through the App Store. Before you confirm, the app and the App Store show how long the trial lasts and the price charged after it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the Annual plan price is charged and the subscription renews automatically. To cancel, open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. The trial is available to eligible users, under App Store rules. If you started a trial in an earlier version, your remaining days still count. New Aegis Premium screen: each feature on its own line, with what it does. It opens from the plans screen and from Settings, Subscription. Reminder before the trial ends: in the last few days, the Drive screen shows when the trial ends and how much you'll be charged. If you allow it, Aegis also lets you know with a notification. Permission is only requested if you turn on the reminder. In Settings, Subscription, you can see whether you're on the trial, when your subscription renews, or whether it won't renew. The Manage subscription button opens App Store subscription management without leaving the app. During a trip, the app doesn't show offers or subscription screens. A reminder that arrives during a trip goes straight to Notification Center, with no sound. If Premium ends in the middle of a trip, it stays on until the trip ends. Fixes: Restore purchases now shows the result, purchases waiting for approval (Ask to Buy) show a notice, the plans screen closes correctly after a purchase, and the explanation of how events are kept has been corrected. Aegis Drive is an assistive tool: it does not drive for you and does not replace the driver's attention.

A new Premium option has arrived: Green light alert (marked Experimental in Settings). While the car is stopped at a red light, Aegis can let you know with a short, voice free sound as soon as the traffic light in your lane turns green, so you notice sooner when traffic starts moving again. To use it, turn on Object detection in Settings, Driver assistance. The alert option appears right below it and is already on. Traffic light recognition happens 100 percent on your device, over the rear camera video, with nothing leaving your iPhone. Like any assistive alert, it may not sound in every situation, so keep watching the light yourself and decide on your own when to go. Aegis Drive is an assistive tool: it does not drive for you and does not replace the driver's attention.

Maintenance update. The app was rebuilt with the latest version of the system to stay compatible with the newest iOS. No alert rule, sound or feature changed. We also pinned the version of the system's text reader used to read speed limit signs and license plates, so the result cannot change on its own with each iOS update. Aegis Drive is an assistive tool: it does not drive for you and does not replace the driver's attention.

Driver monitoring is more accurate at night and in backlight: there are fewer undue eyes closed warnings when you talk or sing, and the real drowsiness alert works as always. A gentle notice called "Signs of fatigue" is new: after repeated yawns in the same trip, it appears once, with a short tone and a vibration, no voice and no effect on your score, and it can be turned off together with driver monitoring. Head down and looking down detection is new too, on screen only, with no sound. A badge on the front camera frame tells you when monitoring is limited, by a dark face, strong glare or unstable tracking, and Settings explains it. The driving screen drawing was fixed in 4K and 720p as well: the lane carpet and the box around the vehicle ahead line up with the road in those formats. Alert audio in the car was rebuilt. Your music is no longer pulled onto the app channel: it stays on its own channel, at the same quality as always, and the alert plays over it. The tones and the voice are louder and fuller next to the music. And you now choose where they come out, under Settings, General, Car audio, Alert channel. On the Media channel, the default, alerts play immediately and in full, with no delay and nothing cut short, and podcasts and audiobooks keep playing mixed underneath while the alert speaks. On the Navigation channel, they pause during speech. The app does less GPU and CPU work during a trip, which helps it run cooler and save battery, and under strong heat GPS accuracy may be reduced for a while, with a notice in Settings and with no effect on the alerts. Reading speed limits from road signs is more efficient, and general fixes landed, among them one for the fatigue notice that could stay silent on back-to-back trips and one for a critical alert that could come out with no voice right after the app itself had spoken. Aegis is an assistive tool: it does not drive for you and does not replace the driver's attention.
