Recordings stay on your device unless you explicitly enable an optional cloud feature. Face ID, recovery keys, metadata controls, device-enforced privacy policies, and encrypted private sync help protect sensitive source material.

The complete local workflow includes recording, on-device transcription, markers, search, Apple Watch control, local security, and portable exports. Optional Pro capabilities include cloud transcription with speaker labels, professional packages, policy locks, encrypted sync, noise reduction, and expiring private links.
