Camera translations are easier to read. On a sign photographed at a slight angle they now tilt to match the text, translations of dense text no longer cover each other, and small print is translated as one paragraph. Tap any translation to read it large, next to the original.

Point and tap: camera translation now works like a snapshot. Aim at a sign or menu, tap Translate, and the picture holds still with the translation laid over the original text. Tap Reset for the next one. Prices on menus and signs are also shown in your own currency, with the exchange rate used. Paragraphs are translated as a whole and shown as one block, so dense text is easy to read.

New Translate tab: type, paste, or pick a photo to translate, with history and favorites. Translate photos from your library right from the camera, too. Works offline for downloaded languages. Sign in with Apple to use your subscription on all your devices, and manage or cancel it from Settings. Copy and share conversation lines, search your transcripts, and turn on the flashlight for dim menus. Conversation fixes: after you speak, the reply is treated as the other person's; Set their language works mid-conversation; tapping the same reply twice speaks it twice; speech keeps playing when headphones disconnect or after Siri. Transcripts keep lines in the order they were spoken and mark lines that couldn't be translated. The voice preview works with the silent switch on. Faster live captions and camera translation.

Faster, steadier conversations. Translations are spoken as soon as they are ready, the mic status is accurate while connecting, and nothing said while the app is talking is lost. Say a language to switch ("Spanish, I need a doctor" speaks the sentence). Replay speaks a line in the language it was said in, and captions show the right side of each line. Fixes for stopping mid-connection, typed replies, restoring purchases and the voice preview.

Pinch to zoom into small print on the camera translator, and tap any translation for a large reading card. Conversations now sort out who's speaking automatically — your words are spoken in their language, theirs come back translated with replies.
