Meltpool: Candle Calculator
Wax, wick, fragrance & price
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Print a price list for your next craft fair or a wholesale line sheet for a shop buyer, straight from your recipes. All six calculators stay free.
The candle maker's calculator that gets the math right — in ounces AND grams.
Meltpool gives container-candle and wax-melt makers six precise, bench-ready calculators for free, and keeps your whole catalogue priced, stocked and repeatable with Pro.
EVERY NUMBER YOU NEED AT THE POUR STATION
• Container Fill — water method (water weight × your wax's factor) or vessel dimensions → exact wax weight per candle and per batch, with purchasing totals and a burn-time estimate.
• Fragrance Load — set your FO percentage and see fragrance weight and total pour instantly, with each wax's typical maximum marked. The convention is stated right on screen: FO % is of wax weight; total pour = wax + FO.
• Batch Scaler — scale any recipe to N candles or a target weight; wax, fragrance and dye scale together.
• Candle Pricing — editable cost lines (wax, fragrance, wick, vessel, label — rename them to match your supplies), labor and overhead → unit cost, then wholesale and retail with honest margins.
• Wick Size Guide — vessel diameter → size-class guidance, the double-wick rule, and the full melt-pool check so you always burn-test with confidence.
• Dye & Colorant — percentages or per-pound dosing without the spreadsheet.
OUNCES AND GRAMS, FIRST-CLASS
One global setting. Every value in clean monospaced figures. Pounds and kilograms appear as purchasing summaries — rounded up, so you never under-buy. No screen ever mixes systems.
SHOWS THE WORK
Every result card shows how it was computed — the water factor, the wax:FO split, the cost lines, the rounding. Check it against your own math any time. That's the point.
YOUR RECIPE CATALOGUE (PRO)
Save any calculation into a recipe — large candle, small candle, tea light. Each recipe keeps its vessel, wax, fragrance load and wick notes, rolls every saved calculation into a bill of materials, and prices the candle with your real costs. Export a clean material list for the bench or your supplier, and print a retail price list for a craft fair or a wholesale line sheet for a shop buyer.
YOUR STOCK ROOM (PRO)
Track every material you own — wax, fragrance, wicks, jars, dye, packaging — with what's on hand and what each costs, plus a low-stock heads-up before a pour run. Link a recipe's cost lines to your stock and every candle prices itself from your real unit costs — change a price once and every recipe updates. Poured a batch? "Made a batch" counts your stock down automatically, with shortfall and low-stock flags. Free saves one recipe; Meltpool Pro unlocks recipe pricing, the unlimited catalogue, the stock room, PDFs and export.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No ads. No tracking. Works completely offline. Your recipes live on your device and sync privately through your own iCloud.
