Updated the Japanese App Store name and subtitle.

Small improvements and bug fixes.

A calmer home screen and introduction put your miniature scenery in focus. See recently collected scenes on your home screen. Subtle arrival animations support Reduce Motion. Fixed an issue where widgets sometimes showed no scenery.

• If your App Store country has its own pack, the first 3 spots in that country are now free to walk (Tokyo stays free for everyone, as before). • When you start, you can now choose "Start in Tokyo" or start in your own country. • After walking the 3 free spots in your country, tap "Back to Tokyo" to keep walking in Tokyo right away.

• New Home Screen widget: display a diorama you've collected, like a poster. Rotate daily or pick a favorite place (including the tall extra-large size on iOS 27). • Below the steps left on Home, you'll now see about how long it takes on foot and roughly when you'll arrive at your current pace. • Your streak no longer resets on days you didn't open the app, as long as you walked. • When you buy a region pack mid-route, you can now choose to walk there right away or after finishing your current spot.

• New Lock Screen widgets show at a glance how far you have left to the spot and the peak you're heading for. • If you reach several places while the app is closed, each one now gets its own celebration when you open it. • Fixed a message that wrongly said your steps couldn't be read, right after setup or in the morning before your first walk. • If you remove Today's Journey from the Lock Screen, it now stays off until you turn it back on in Settings.

• Fixed getting stuck on the setup screen after tapping Continue, and sync stalling afterwards. • Sync and widget updates no longer wait on the Sherpa message when it takes a while to generate.

• Fixed progress from your previous device sometimes not carrying over when switching phones. • Fixed spots from refunded or expired regions remaining as your walking destination. • Fixed re-selecting a summited mountain being overridden on the next sync. • Fixed steps taken while the app is closed not reliably reaching the widget. • Fixed the weekly challenge showing “In progress” after completing the steps-only course, and per-spot “Today” counts resetting to 0 right after midnight.

• The app is now available in 36 more languages. • Fixed region pack names being cut off, and hard to tell apart, in languages with longer text. • Fixed the overseas region packs heading showing in Japanese in English and some other languages.

Search terms and store text refreshed. No functional changes.

StepScape now speaks 45 languages. Every screen, all 1,245 spot descriptions and the widgets are fully translated.

• Minor improvements and stability fixes.

Improved the App Store listing for more countries. Small refinements.

• Fixed an issue where spots from regions you no longer own could appear under “Places to walk”.

• Reordered the Expand tab. Places you can walk and peaks you can climb now come first, with the prefecture you're currently walking pinned to the top — no more scrolling past the store to pick a destination. • Packs you already own are no longer shown for sale; they're collected under "Purchased packs" at the bottom. • "Later" on the widget tip now just hides it for a while (it used to hide it forever).

• A refreshed Home: the diorama of the landmark you're walking to and the mountain you're climbing now come first, shown in full. Tap a card to open its details. • See at a glance how many steps remain to the next landmark. • Widgets and the app now count steps the same way. The large widget shows when it was last updated. • Right after connecting, only steps taken after connecting count as "today". • Shorter onboarding, plus a guide for adding the widget (also available from Settings). • Recommended packs now follow the journey you're on. The purchase screen opens with a signature diorama. • Weekly challenge: new steps-only course (switch in Settings). • If Health data can't be read, the app now shows how to check permissions.
