Record the audio playing on your Mac and save it to your Desktop as an .m4a file. It never uses your microphone or records your screen.
AudioOut Recorder records the audio playing on your Mac and saves it to your Desktop as an .m4a file. No cables, no extra drivers, no microphone.
Press Start and it captures whatever your speakers are playing: music, a video call, a podcast, a stream, a game. Press Stop & Save and the file shows up on your Desktop, named by the date, and opens in Finder.
Three quality options:
• Good: AAC 128 kbps
• Better: AAC 256 kbps (the default)
• Best: Apple Lossless for an exact copy
Good to know:
• It records system audio output, not your microphone
• It never captures video or anything on your screen
• A level meter shows the sound while it records
• Files always save to the Desktop as .m4a
On macOS the system audio stream is only reachable through the Screen Recording permission, so the app asks for it. That access is used for audio and nothing else. The app collects no data and shows no ads.
