- A game's page now opens with the game's own artwork behind the title, running the full width and all the way to the top of the screen. - Platforms are colour-coded tags with their own marks — Xbox green, PlayStation blue, Nintendo red — instead of grey text reading "PC (Microsoft Windows)". They sit above the genres, and wrap to as many lines as they need instead of being cut off. - A profile's Posts, Lists, Reviews and Library tabs sit lower, clear of Now Playing above them.

- News from the games you follow can now be narrowed to one game. Tap a game above the list to see just its stories, tap again for all of them. - Explore opens with a Featured row — games picked by hand rather than by a popularity score. - The followed-news feed goes deeper, so narrowing to one game actually has something to show. - Follow now sits above the scores on a game's page instead of below them. - Fixed the Pin to Widget button having its two states the wrong way round.

- Share images are sharper — they render at twice the size, and cover art is no longer stretched from a thumbnail - The game share card was rebuilt: the title runs across the top instead of being squeezed beside the cover - A game that's already out now shows what it's about, where the countdown would be - Search tells you when a game isn't in our catalog instead of offering a similar-sounding one

- Games you've been playing on Steam now show up on Now Playing by themselves, and drop off after ten days without a session - Now Playing is its own shelf, so a game can be in your Backlog and on Now Playing at the same time - Hide from Now Playing takes a game off for good — it won't come back unless you add it yourself - Every share button now opens the same screen: a card you can post or save to Photos, plus a Copy link button - Profiles and lobby threads have their own share cards now - News loads faster, and no single site crowds the others out of the feed - Fixed: countdowns and the widget were a day early, sometimes saying a game was out while Steam still had hours to go

• Rebuilt the welcome for new accounts — pick the games you're waiting for and your first countdown is running before you've finished signing up. • Sharper cover art on game pages and the iPad banner • The list share screen now shows you how to share

- VGC (Video Games Chronicle) is now a news source, in All News and in news from the games you follow - New Owned shelf: mark games you have but aren't playing right now. It's where the Steam import already puts most of your games, and now you can move them in and out yourself - News is now English-only: posts from foreign-language sites that Steam mixes into a game's news no longer show up - Picking one of several saved list drafts could open the wrong one, or nothing at all - Headlines no longer lose their quotes, apostrophes, and dashes

New • Follow games on the website too, with a Following page that gathers their news into one feed. It's the same list as the app. • Tap a game on the release countdown widget to jump straight to its page. Improved • Choose your countdown widget's games in one place: pick up to six from a single list, sorted by release date, instead of setting them one slot at a time. • Following a game takes effect the moment you tap, with a confirmation, instead of making you wait. • The Following tab is split into Games and Threads. Threads shows what's popular across every game this week, or just threads in games you follow and ones you've joined. Fixed • Unfollowing from a game's page could do nothing if you hadn't opened the Following tab first. • Unfollowing from your list of followed games no longer takes several seconds to go through. • The Pinned screen drops a game as soon as you unpin or unfollow it, instead of after you leave and come back. • Following a game on the website no longer fails for games you'd already followed in the app. • Unfollowing a game on the website now takes it off your countdown widget on your phone, instead of it reappearing there. • Game pages no longer flicker and rebuild themselves while the release countdown is on screen.

New • Follow a game to get its news and lobby threads — and if it hasn't released yet, it joins your countdown widget automatically. • A Following tab with one news feed for every game you follow. • Manage your library properly: move games between shelves, select several at once, and remove them. Improved • Game covers show four across, and grids now use the full width in landscape and on iPad. • News and store links open inside the app instead of throwing you out to Safari. • The Following tab suggests games to follow when you haven't picked any yet, and you can follow them right there. Fixed • Every pinned game now appears when setting up a widget — the picker used to stop at fifteen. It's searchable too. • A brand-new thread now sorts to the top of Lobbies instead of below every thread that already had replies. • YouTube videos no longer show as black boxes when you come back to the app. • Moving a game between shelves animates instead of making the list jump. • News now finds games the press writes about under another name — follow Grand Theft Auto VI and you'll get the GTA 6 headlines too. • Pulling to refresh the Following tab returns you to the top instead of leaving the list parked mid-scroll. • A game page no longer shows "Follow" on and "Pin to widget" off at the same time — following pins the game, and unpinning one you still follow now sticks.
