Haibao - AI Video Player plays local videos and generates bilingual subtitles on your Mac with on-device AI. Watch with original and translated captions without uploading media to a cloud AI service.
Local video playback
Open videos from your Mac, Downloads folder, or other folders you choose. Haibao keeps playback controls, subtitle source options, and recent media in a native macOS interface.
Media formats
Video file examples: MP4, M4V, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, FLV, TS and MPEG. Audio file examples: MP3, M4A, WAV and FLAC. For local videos, Haibao can find matching external SRT subtitles; network sources can also list SRT and VTT files. These are recognized file extensions, not a guarantee that every audio/video codec or subtitle track inside a file will play. Compatibility depends on the file and your Mac.
AI subtitles and translation
Generate subtitles for local videos with on-device speech recognition, then translate subtitle text for personal viewing, study, and review.
User TV
Add individual HTTP or HTTPS live stream URLs you are authorized to access, such as HLS (.m3u8), and watch with real-time AI captions and translation. Haibao provides no browser, channel catalog, recommendations, public lists, or channel-playlist import. User TV is free.
Model settings
Choose local speech models and prepare language packs from Settings. You can also set Haibao as the default app for common video and audio files.
Privacy-minded by design
Local media files, file paths, subtitles, and translated text are not uploaded to cloud AI services. The app may send minimized product analytics and error information as described in the privacy policy.
