The opening screen now waits for your playlist, so the app is ready the moment it appears. It used to hold for nine seconds on every launch and still hand over an app that was loading. When something won't play because your provider allows one stream at a time and it's already in use on another device, Screenroom now tells you so, instead of blaming the file. Series you're watching or have saved now load while the app opens, so their pages open straight away.

Sport now leads Live TV. Real fixtures and live scores for the leagues and sports you follow, each shown on the channel of yours that is carrying it — your own country's channels first, then beIN and the rest of the world. Choose your leagues, sports and teams in Settings. Your sources, profiles, favourites, watch progress and sport choices now follow your Apple Account to every device signed in to the same iCloud. There is no separate login to make. Continue Watching finishes properly. Something you have effectively watched leaves the row, and finishing an episode moves the series on to the next one. A Next Episode button appears while the credits roll. Continue Watching starts fresh once in this update. Choose an actor to see their other films and series you can watch. A video that stalls now restarts itself and carries on, instead of sitting on the loading spinner. Search keeps your recent searches, clears them when you ask, and ranks results better. Faster launch and a quicker first play, a new opening animation while your playlist loads, new profile artwork, and a more polished look for artwork and Continue Watching.
