Start with 30 free hand-overs. Keep your Mac on the apps you choose, hand it over, and keep your messages, mail and accounts to yourself.
You unlock your phone, open one app, and hand it to a small, curious person. Then you watch — because one swipe lands them in your messages, one tap sends a half-written email, and a long press deletes the album from the trip.
Pacifier is the calm version. Set it up once, and every hand-off after that takes three seconds.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick a profile. Each child gets their own allowed apps and websites, session length and battery floor — the session ends before the battery runs flat.
• Hold to seal. Everything except the allowed apps goes behind a shield enforced by iOS. Messages, FaceTime and Maps are hidden too, unless you keep them open.
• Hand it over. When the time is up, a gentle wind-down ends the session. Your PIN or Face ID unseals it.
Because the shield is enforced by iOS itself, it holds even if the app is force-quit.
BUILT FOR PARENTS, NOT ADVERTISERS
• No account, ever. No email, no sign-up.
• No Pacifier servers. Sessions run entirely on your device and work in airplane mode. The optional Mac link uses your own iCloud.
• Pacifier never reads who you text, what you browse, or your Screen Time reports.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
We would rather say this up front than have you discover it later.
• Phone and Settings stay reachable — iOS doesn't let any app block them. For the tightest lock, Super Safe Mode keeps the phone on one app.
• Super Safe Mode uses Apple's Guided Access, which you start yourself. Pacifier explains it step by step, but no app can switch it on for you on a normal device.
• No app can force notification previews to hide. We walk you through the setting instead of pretending it is automatic.
• An older child who knows your PIN can end a session. The PIN is the lock — pick one they will not guess.
