Crystl: AI Orchestration
conduct an orchestra of agents
Only for iPhone
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
crystl for iPhone is the companion to crystl for Mac, the desktop app that runs your AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini). Pair over your local network to watch shards live, read transcripts, approve tool requests, answer agent questions, and steer sessions from anywhere in the house. Requires crystl running on your Mac.
more You can summon a hero when you start a new shard from your phone.
A card you deal with on your Mac now clears off your phone too, even if your phone was asleep when it happened.
A shard's agent and model sit beside its name, and a model no longer repeats the agent that runs it.
Fixes to the banner that tells you a worker is blocked: it no longer stays up after the thing it was waiting on is resolved, and it no longer shows a mark that looks like a close button but is not one.
1.0.32 Oct 7
Smarter NEEDS YOU, quieter notifications.
• Agent cards that ask for something are promoted to the top of the NEEDS YOU section
• Shards stalled on a usage limit collapse out of the list; when a limit resets the row says so and offers a nudge to resume
• Notifications now distinguish a request from an announcement, so announcements arrive quietly and scheduled reminders keep full volume
• A retired card takes its push banner with it
1.0.31 Oct 5
Keep track of your agents more easily from your iPhone.
• The new Agents overview brings together activity across projects, approvals, questions, and agents that need your attention.
• Choose and reorder two or three tab bar shortcuts. More keeps the remaining sections and settings within reach.
• Rename a shard from its menu in the gems list.
• Approval notifications open the right place, and attention rows avoid showing the same agent twice.
• Reduced background polling and improved navigation and saved tab preferences.
• Updated in-app navigation and voice instructions.
• Fixed cramped session rows and blank content when switching or reordering tabs.
• Project lists refresh immediately when the connected Mac adds or removes projects, while preserving connection permissions and newer updates.
1.0.30 Oct 4
A tool call in the chat now collapses to a single line with a button to open it, so a long agent run stays readable.
Schedules can run a shell command with no agent, and can rotate through a list of prompts, sending a different one each time they fire. Both are viewable and editable on the phone.
A notification card's action button now runs from the phone.
Fixes: tool rows no longer reorder messages, tool output previews cap correctly, and card actions run against the right session.
1.0.29 Sep 30
- Notification cards with a suggested action now have a working button on the phone — tap it to run the action directly from your phone.
- The hands-free voice button now sits next to your other quick controls (insert, image) instead of taking up its own row.
1.0.28 Sep 28
Your agent can read its replies out loud. Switch on "read replies aloud" in settings, then tap the speaker button in a session to hear them.
You can pick which voice reads them, and tap any voice to hear a sample first.
1.0.27 Sep 17
Messages from your agents now arrive with the sender and their identity intact, so you can tell at a glance which shard is talking to you.
Photo uploads now tell you when an image was downscaled before it was sent.
1.0.26 Sep 16
Keep your work when a terminal send is refused.
• If you start typing a new message while an earlier terminal send is refused, Crystl keeps the text you are writing ready to send.
1.0.25 Sep 15
Send a photo and what to say about it in one message. Pick the image, type your note, and both travel to your agent together.
A question from your agent stays on screen until you answer it, and your typed message is kept if a photo cannot go out yet.
Prompts arrive one card at a time, oldest first, instead of competing for the same space.
Tool calls in the transcript are summarised by what they acted on, and their artifacts are easier to reach.
1.0.24 Sep 7
Messages and question cards behave better in this update.
• Long messages keep their beginning visible while sending, stay in the queue, and expand to the full text after delivery.
• Question cards can be dismissed from a conversation, and stay in the inbox until you answer them.
• Approval and question cards sit alongside the conversation instead of over it, show one at a time so your messages stay visible, and no longer flash during automatic handling.
• Shard actions are separated from the open arrow for clearer tapping.
• Codex interface and status text no longer appear as a chat reply.
1.0.23 Aug 27
Supervising from your phone is quicker and calmer this time.
• A message you send appears straight away, with a clear sending state and a retry if it doesn't land.
• Reading the conversation while your agent works no longer pulls you back to the bottom. A new button takes you there when you want it.
• The terminal view zooms smoothly and stays readable at every size.
• A message from one agent to another now shows who sent it, instead of appearing as yours.
• Watching a working agent uses far less data.
1.0.22 Aug 24
your shard list now says when a worker can't run — out of quota, expired credentials, or waiting on a retry — and when it is back. conversations stay put when a shard closes while you are reading one.
1.0.10 Aug 21
• Tap any notification to open the shard it came from. If that shard has closed since, the app tells you rather than doing nothing.
1.0.9 Aug 19
• The inbox now has two sections: needs-you for approvals and questions, and notifications you can swipe to dismiss.
• Card pushes open straight to their card, and scheduled reminders say so.
• Clearing notifications on the Mac clears your phone inbox too.
• Dictation reliably delivers your last sentence to the draft.
• A failed refresh shows a banner instead of quietly keeping stale rows.
1.0.8 Aug 17
• Tap a notification and land right in the shard that sent it.
• Image sends wait when the Mac's input line is busy — and say so — instead of failing.
• Fixed a case where a sent chat message could briefly appear twice.
1.0.6 Aug 16
Dictation, rebuilt:
• Pause mid-sentence and keep going — nothing you said gets overwritten.
• The message field grows as you speak and keeps the newest words in view.
• Dictated speech is punctuated.
• A message you started stays put if you switch away and come back.
• Pairing problems now say what actually went wrong instead of blaming your network.
1.0.5 Jul 28
Reliability update:
• Smoother live agent status and typing indicators.
• More accurate conversation timeline and transcript text.
• Behind-the-scenes syncing and stability fixes.
1.0.3 Jul 21
New Settings screen: choose whether shards open on chat or terminal, and hide the quest tab if you don't use it.
Conversations now open at the latest message.
Merge actions show the branch they will merge into.
Pairing screen polish, plus a link to get crystl for your Mac.
1.0.2 Jul 8
Faster, smoother conversations. The conversation view now updates incrementally instead of rebuilding, so long agent sessions scroll cleanly and live output stays responsive. The message bar no longer stutters during heavy terminal output, and the transcript refreshes faster while an agent is working.
1.0.1 Jul 7
