This app/game is amazing. It’s just like Pokémon, where you can collect car cards (I know a little confusing) and show them off to your friends. There is a built in grading system, where it grades your cars based on the trim/spec. So if I take a picture of a 911 Carrera 4 and a picture of a 911 S/T, the S/T will be graded much higher because it is rarer. The free version of the app is perfectly useable, with a 100 car limit, which is honestly hard to hit if you’re only collecting rare cars. And if u do hit the limit, the full version is only $25, which is totally worth it. This app is overall a 10/10.

I think it’s a good app and of course they need some stream of income to not only keep it up on the App Store but use the ai detection as well, but I think it’s somewhat scummy they don’t tell users that they’re basically on a free trial until they hit 100, and 100 doesn’t take long to hit. I was having fun, spotting cars I’d see at shows and in the wild and suddenly I had to pony up either $3 a month or $25 forever. While not huge sums of money it’s (in my opinion) asking too much from people for a car spotting game and not a good practice to suddenly state that users have to pay once they hit a certain number. As stated previously, these apps understandably need to make money to continue operating, but there are different and better ways to make it. I’m sure there’s a good bit of people who’d be fine with donating money, or locking additional features behind a paywall, but the fact that it’s basically unplayable past 100 cars (unless you delete cars you’ve spotted, but what’s the point of doing that?) is a good way to drive users off of your app. It was fun for a while, but now I feel like I’ve wasted my time on this appTLDR: Good app, but the fact that it’s a free trial game without telling users isn’t a good thing to do

I quite like this. It makes driving around town more fun when I’m on the lookout for new cars. It is also educational as I’m learning of new models and whatnot. The layout is easy to use and looks good. At first, I was thrown off by the pixelated interface, but I kind of like it now. My only gripes with this are the 100 car limit and the AI. I understand the need for monetary gain, but the whole point of this app is to collect all the cars. I will stop playing when I reach the limit as I’m sure many others are as well. Don’t put the main feature behind a paywall. The other benefits of pro make sense, and the devs could instead include some customizations that cost money as well to increase profits. Potentially, changing the color of the car in the dex could be behind the paywall instead. That would much sooner lead me to buy pro. The AI also is wrong 30% of the time and may need some more time to train.

Was skeptical at first, haven’t had much fun on any mobile apps lately and usually delete/don’t install apps unless I’m frequently using. MotorDex IS AWESOME. Makes your day more fun seeing cool cars and collecting them. Huge fan of the art style, and the layout is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. The addition of a friends page to compete has been super fun, and I’ve had a blast all around. Whoever’s making this app needs to start making more, this crushes!
