Overlook: Notch Work Hub
Your notch, put to work
Only for Mac
Free
Mac
Hover the notch and it opens into your work hub: what's playing, today's meetings with one-click Join, your Jira issues, a focus timer and live system stats.
Overlook turns the notch on your MacBook into a work hub. Hover it and it grows into a panel with what's playing, today's meetings, your Jira issues and a few small widgets. Move away and it folds back into the notch. No window to switch to, and you never lose your place.
NOW PLAYING • Apple Music and Spotify, with artwork, a scrubber you can drag, and play/pause and skip. • Collapsed, the notch grows two small wings: cover art on one side, a live level meter on the other. • Something else playing, like a browser tab or a game? Overlook shows which app it is and gives you play/pause and skip for it too.
TODAY'S MEETINGS • Today's events from the calendars on your Mac. • One-click Join for Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Whereby and more. Overlook finds the link in the event for you.
JIRA, WITHOUT THE TAB • Your Jira Cloud issues: assigned to you, to anyone, or to a teammate. • Change an issue's status straight from its badge. Your workflow's transitions are right there. • Your API token is kept in the macOS keychain.
WIDGETS • Timer: a stopwatch, or a 25-minute Pomodoro. • Network: live upload and download speed. • System: CPU, memory and disk at a glance.
BUILD IT YOUR WAY • Live Builder: drag components into one, two or three columns. The builder canvas is the notch itself, so what you arrange is what you get. • Tabs for anything you don't keep on the main page, under the notch or at the top left. • Pin the panel open while you work somewhere else. • Liquid Glass or solid black, the album cover as the panel's backdrop, and blur and dimming to taste. • Fine-tune the notch size and hover delay, and hide the panel in full screen or while mirroring. • No notch on your display? The panel opens from the top centre of the screen all the same.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN Overlook has no account and collects no data. Your calendar is read on your Mac, Jira requests go straight from your Mac to your own Jira site, and there are no analytics.
PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED • Automation: to show and control what's playing in Music and Spotify. • Calendars: to list today's events. • Accessibility: only to press the media keys for apps Overlook can't control directly, such as your browser. Every permission is optional. Anything you don't allow simply stays off.
