Selfish 1.3 speaks your language, and brings four new themes. YOUR LANGUAGE • Selfish is now in German, French, Spanish and Japanese, as well as English. Every screen, menu and message follows your device's language, and so do the share sheet, the widgets, Siri, Shortcuts and the Mac's Services. • Your sites keep their own language. A site's pages and dates follow its settings, whatever language the app is in. FOUR NEW THEMES • Darkroom, for photographs: a contact sheet of square frames on near-black, and photos printed wide in every post. • Daybook, for a journal: each entry led by its date in the margin, so a note needs no title. • Handbook, for a project: its pages down a sidebar, like a manual. • Signpost, a link page: your picture, your name, and everywhere you are as a column of buttons. • Project page and Link page, two new kinds of site to start from. MAKE IT YOURS • Six typefaces for any theme, free, published with your site so readers load nothing from elsewhere. • Custom CSS: rules of your own, after any theme's, on every site. • Every theme reads more clearly, in light and dark. PUBLISH • A second destination: a folder to look at first, or a copy on another host, as well as your site. • Readers never see new pages in an old theme's style. AND • The app's own Settings, from the gear beside Sites, or Selfish ▸ Settings… on the Mac. • On an iPad keyboard, hold ⌘ to see the File and Site menus and their shortcuts. • On the Mac, words typed just after a photo, or at the start of a post that opens with one, are now always saved. • A title written wholly in Japanese, Chinese, Russian or another script that can't be an address now gives the post its date as its address. • A draft made with Shortcuts or the Mac's Services takes its address from its title when it's published.

Selfish 1.2 is the biggest update yet, and brings iPhone, iPad and Mac to the same version. MOVE IN, MOVE OUT • Import from WordPress, Ghost, Substack, Medium, Hugo, Jekyll, Eleventy, Obsidian or any blog's feed. Old links keep working. • Export your whole site as Markdown and photos, any time. PUBLISH MORE WAYS • Sign in with GitHub for GitHub Pages — no token to copy, and Pages is switched on for you. • WebDAV, and a folder in iCloud Drive or Dropbox. • Only what changed is sent, you see it before it goes, and what you remove comes down. CAPTURE FROM ANYWHERE • Share a page, words or photos to Selfish from any app. • Widgets for your drafts, and New Post in Control Centre. • More Shortcuts, scheduled posts, notes without titles, and audio recorded in the app. WRITE MORE • Lists that format as you type, code, footnotes, links to your other posts, and link cards. • Photos side by side, crop and rotate, focal points and camera details. • Earlier versions of every post, and Recently Deleted. A BETTER SITE • Make any theme yours: colour, typeface, light or dark, and width. • Choose your home page; add search, an archive, a Subscribe page or a podcast feed. • Faster pages, share cards, clean addresses and related posts — and a privacy check of the whole site before it goes up.

Photos, video and audio now go where you put them. Place an attachment anywhere in the post and it publishes exactly there, instead of collecting in a gallery below the text. The composer shows each one in place as you write, and tapping a placed photo opens its caption and alt text.
