Kairosophe

Reasons to celebrate, daily

$0.99

Made with my daughter to notice the days worth celebrating: your dates first, then patterns, holidays and moons. iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch. No ads, no tracking. A calendar usually tells you what you have to do. Kairosophe tells you what's worth celebrating. Kairosophe is a calendar of reasons to celebrate. A calendar usually tells you what you have to do; this one tells you what's worth celebrating. My daughter and I made it to notice the good days, starting with the ones that are personal to you. Add your own dates (birthdays, anniversaries, the day someone arrived or something began) and Kairosophe surfaces every reason they come back around: a year, a round 1,000 days, a pretty number, the same date in another calendar. Around them it also notices the wider patterns: new years from many traditions, holidays, name days, full moons and solstices. It's the ·sophe family's way of adding a little wisdom (sophía) to specific days, so the meaningful ones don't slip past unnoticed. The same app runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac (in the menu bar) and Apple Watch, with widgets and complications showing the next reason to celebrate. Browse month by month, or just glance. It can import from and export to the iOS calendar, and save personal dates to CSV for faster editing. Ask Siri to add a date or tell you what's coming up, right from your iPhone or Apple Watch. No account, no ads, no tracking, and your dates stay on your device. (Public-holiday lists can be fetched on request for countries you choose; nothing about you is ever sent.) Buy it once: no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

• Share a day's reasons as a pretty image, customized with a color, a photo or emoji, and a personal message that becomes the card's headline. • A quiet "On this day" recap: past anniversaries and running day counts for your personal dates. • Share a set of personal dates with family via QR code or link, with no server and nothing leaving your devices. • Import birthdays straight from Contacts, one tap; you choose exactly which ones. • Choose exactly which personal dates notify you, and on which milestones. • Ask Siri to add a date or read back what's coming up, on iPhone and Apple Watch. • Moon phases, equinoxes and solstices are now computed on your device with the standard astronomical algorithms: accurate to the minute, and entirely offline. • Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist holidays join the existing calendars, each switched on per tradition. • Importing a set of dates can now replace your list instead of adding to it, from a file, a link or a QR code; and you can export your dates as CSV from Mac as well as iPhone. • Apple Watch settings now match the iPhone, synced automatically. sophe@lewiner.org.
