PromptMute helps you prepare text for AI tools without sending raw secrets, customer data, or private identifiers into a model prompt. Paste emails, logs, configuration snippets, customer notes, resumes, contracts, or API traces into PromptMute. The app scans locally, highlights sensitive items, replaces enabled detections with readable placeholders, and keeps a local mapping so AI replies can be restored on your device. Built-in detectors cover common contact information, financial identifiers, URLs, URL tokens, API keys, bearer tokens, JWTs, private keys, database URLs, passwords, IP addresses, and internal hostnames. Developer and General profiles help tune the workflow for code/log data or everyday business text. PromptMute does not require an account and does not configure analytics, telemetry, backend upload, or AI API calls. Optional saved mappings are encrypted locally with a passphrase.
