Pylon: Field Ops
Native field operations
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Pylon is the native iOS app for your organization's Field Operations Platform — the same web app your team already uses, with native speed and field-ready tools.
Built for technicians, dispatchers, and managers in the field:
• Receive and complete jobs with photo and video documentation
• Native push notifications and app-icon badges for new and updated work
• Full-screen camera with pinch-to-zoom for inspecting devices and sites
• Face ID / Touch ID confirmation for sensitive actions
• A terminal key bar for on-site SSH work
• One-tap setup — open the link your administrator sends and you're ready
Pylon is a secure shell: it only opens the recognized, authorized deployment your organization uses — it is not a general-purpose web browser. Your session stays on your device.
Just exploring? Tap "Try the live demo" on the first screen to walk through the full app with sample data — no account or sign-in required.
Pylon is published by Logan Technology LLC. Your organization operates the platform Pylon connects to; your account and work data are managed by them.
more 1.8.2 — Follow-ups now open the original job when you tap "Follow-up from another job". All Tasks search can now look back through every job, including finished and older ones, with "Search all history". Pylon is ready for iPhone Duo: open it for side-by-side lists and details, a tab bar that matches iOS on both screens, and an SSH terminal that follows you through every fold. Bug fixes and performance improvements.

1.8.1 — Bug fixes and performance improvements.
1.8.1 Oct 7
1.8 — Time off with QuickBooks Time, and better triage for Salesforce cases.
• Time off. Under My Stuff → Time Off you can see your PTO balances and your upcoming and past time off, straight from QuickBooks Time. Request time off from the app: pick the type, the dates and the hours per day, and the request goes to QuickBooks Time as pending for your manager to approve. Pylon checks the dates as you pick them and shows how many weekdays and hours you are asking for.
• Time off on the schedule. Approved time off shows on the schedule, and pending requests show with a dashed outline. When you assign a job, anyone who is off that day is marked.
• Dismiss with a reason. A case waiting for review can be dismissed as not requesting support, as spam, or as a duplicate of another open task. Pick the original from a list, and the case is linked to it instead of being closed.
• Acknowledgment status. A case shows when its automatic acknowledgment was sent, when it is due, or why it was not sent, with a button to send it now.
• Possible duplicates flagged. When a new case looks like the same conversation as another open task, a banner says so, with one tap to merge it into that task or to mark it as not a duplicate.

1.7.5 — Purchase orders now go to QuickBooks when you mark them ordered, and errors on purchase orders are shown instead of failing silently.
1.7.5 Oct 2
1.7.4 — Bug fixes and performance improvements.
1.7.4 Sep 24
1.7.3 — Pylon on iPad.
• Built for the big screen. On iPad the list stays on the left and whatever you tap opens beside it — a job, a device, a customer, a quote — instead of taking over the screen. Every list section works this way: Today, My Jobs, All Jobs, Projects, Customers, Leads, Quotes, Devices, Cameras, Billing, and the More menu.
• Dashboard that gets out of the way. The overview uses the full width until you tap something; then it slides to the side with the job next to it, and "‹ Overview" brings it back. Count cards, "See all" and the by-technician and by-customer lists all open beside the overview.
• Rotate freely. Landscape splits the screen in two; portrait gives the list a narrower column. What you had open stays open when you rotate or switch apps.
• SSH terminal on a wide screen. The special keys sit in the input row instead of above the keyboard, and the terminal takes the whole display while you are typing. On iPhone the terminal now opens full screen. A keyboard hang after switching apps mid-session is fixed, and the toolbar's Commands button folds to an icon when space is tight.
• Customers you can tell apart. Every customer picker now shows a site as "Parent : Site" — two buildings with the same name under different parents are no longer identical rows, and grouping by customer keeps them separate.
• Known email contacts. Open a customer to see and manage the email addresses that belong to it. A Salesforce case from one of those addresses now arrives with the customer already set.
• Touch ID wording on devices that use it, and the toolbar layout from 1.7.2 carried across.
1.7.3 Sep 19
1.7.2 — built for iOS 27.
• Job summary. Tap the Apple Intelligence button on any job for a few plain-language bullets — what the job is, what has been done, what is blocking it or comes next — read from its details, notes and end-of-job report. Made on your phone: nothing leaves it and nothing is saved. Replies in your phone's language, Spanish included. iPhones with Apple Intelligence.
• Read label. In a site's device list, photograph the sticker on a switch, camera or panel and Pylon reads the vendor, model, serial and MAC off it; tap one to find that device in the list. No more typing a MAC off a tiny label. iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence.
• Siri and Spotlight know your jobs. "Open a job in Pylon" or "Open the Parkside job in Pylon" (any job by name) goes straight to it; "What's on my schedule in Pylon" reads today's visits out loud, even with no signal. A job found in Spotlight opens directly.
• Toolbars keep the button you need. In a narrow window — an iPad split, iPhone Mirroring on a Mac — the main action stays put and the filters tuck into a menu.
• The on-job timer in the Dynamic Island steps aside when the island is too narrow, instead of showing clipped digits.
• Includes the 1.7.1 fixes: Eastern schedule times and Dark Mode signatures.
1.7.2 Sep 15
1.7.1 — schedule times are Eastern.
• A scheduled visit's time now always means Eastern time, whichever time zone the phone that set it is in. Lists still show it in your local time.
• Adding a time window shows Eastern hours in the picker and is labeled as such.
• Moving or reassigning a scheduled day keeps its time window instead of resetting it to 9:00.
• "Add to calendar" puts the visit at the right local time for the Eastern schedule.
• Signatures drawn with the phone in Dark Mode are now visible on the pad and in the saved picture.
• Includes the 1.7 upload fix: photos and signatures upload reliably.
1.7.1 Sep 11
1.7 — faster and smoother.
• Opening a job is one request instead of ten, so jobs open faster on weak signal.
• Large titles, pull to refresh on every list, and haptic feedback on every change.
• An offline banner shows how many changes are queued; a note appears if a sync fails.
• Photo grids scroll smoothly and no longer flicker after a sync.
• Skeleton loading on My Van, Time Off, Billing and Admin instead of spinners; recently opened screens reopen instantly.
• Swipe a job on My Tasks or All Tasks to start or complete it.
• Reference documents (PDF, Word, spreadsheets) show as documents and open in a viewer.
• Photos and signatures upload reliably again; anything that looked stuck has been delivered.
1.7 Sep 10
Photos, sign-off and sync.
• Photos and videos no longer go missing. Each one is registered the moment you take it, resized, and retried on its own until it lands — the tile shows progress, and a failed upload offers Retry or Discard.
• Customer sign-off: where your deployment requires it, the customer signs on your phone and types their name before a job can be completed. Signed jobs show who signed and when.
• A Sync button in More (and on Today) for every role. Face ID now comes up before anything is shown, on every open.
• Assigning yourself to a job no longer flashes your name and then reverts.
• Pull-to-refresh on the Dashboard waits for the refresh instead of giving up early.
• Photos open faster on a second look.
1.6.5 Sep 6
This release is bug fixes and polish.
• Your jobs list now has a search box — find a job by its title, site or address without scrolling.
• Jobs put on hold are visible again on your own screen, clearly marked, instead of quietly disappearing from the list.
• More of the app reads in your language on Spanish and Russian devices.
1.6.4 Aug 31
• Finishing a job, done properly — record the parts that came off your van (or say you used none), write the end-of-job report in the same step, and read it back on the job afterwards. Your organization decides whether either step is required.
• Follow Up Needed — raise a follow-up job straight from the one you're finishing. It lands in the office's triage queue, linked to the original.
• Parts Used — a card on the job itself, so a job that gets reopened still has somewhere to record a part.
• On call — a separate support rotation alongside the technician one, each with its own handover day. Managers assign either from the schedule.
• Notifications you can trust — the schedule and the people list now show when someone's phone has actually stopped receiving notifications, and tell the difference between "not getting them now" and "will stop soon". Pick who should be told if a particular person goes quiet.
• Fixes — the app now asks iOS for a notification token properly, so push works where it silently didn't; a note stays above the keyboard as you type; tapping a notification about jobs awaiting review opens that list; a manager's note is no longer forced private; converted leads and closed opportunities stay visible; billing totals now match the office on discounted and contract-covered work; and swapping a device no longer moves monitoring to the wrong unit.
1.6 Aug 30
• My Van — see what's on your truck, what you're short on, and record what you used with a tap. Driving more than one van? Pick the one you're in today, and run a full count when you restock.
• Time off — request PTO and see your upcoming days off without leaving the app. Scheduling a job now warns you if the assignee is off that day.
• Quotes — turn an accepted quote into a project in one step, see a "Converted" badge on the ones already done, and filter the list by what's left.
• Tasks — @mention a teammate in a note, see and change the job's project, read site credentials right in Site info, and see the whole-job discount on billing.
• Site alerts — managers can set per-site offline thresholds, choose who gets notified, and send a test alert to their own device.
• Fixes — the Power cycle button now appears on iOS; a permission change takes effect on the next refresh instead of requiring a sign-out; and device sync no longer leaves a partial site list behind.
1.4 Aug 19
• Pylon now offers to turn on the Face ID lock right after you sign in, and it's cleared automatically when you sign out. You can change it anytime in App Settings.
• Fixed: tapping a notification right after opening the app now reliably opens its task.
• Fixed: dashboard workload counts and colors now match the filtered task list.
1.3 Jul 13
• Now a completely native iOS app. No longer a web wrapper. Full sync and cached data right on your device.
• Delete a photo or video you uploaded by mistake — right from the task, with undo. Start/end photos update the task's timeline automatically.
• Tap a technician or customer on the Dashboard to jump straight to their filtered tasks.
• You now stay signed out cleanly when your session expires, instead of the app silently failing until you relaunch.
• The setup screen's menu now links Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Support, and shows the app version.
