SEARCH YOUR BOOKS • Search any book for a word or phrase. It's in Quick Settings in the reader. • Intelligent Search finds passages by meaning, so you can describe a moment, like "when they first meet". It's free for everyone, works with English books, and runs privately on your device after a one-time download in Settings → Reading. (Exact word search also works) READING • Table of contents entries and links inside the book now take you to the exact section, not just the start of the chapter. • The table of contents now shows part headings correctly, without duplicated chapters. • Fixed headings, small text and links sometimes showing at the wrong size or colour. • The Lock Screen and CarPlay now show the chapter's title. LISTENING • Orate splits long sentences less often, and starts faster after an app or iOS update. • Kokoro model updated, fixes robotic artifact on the beginning of some sentences. • If you scroll while paused, Play continues from where you stopped or from the listen-start marker. • Text replacement rules now match curly quotes and punctuation copied from the book. SETTINGS AND MORE • The iCloud settings backup now includes your voice settings and presets. • Developer updates in Settings now show news from the Audiobookify Discord. • Fixed bug where supporter access drops when you open the app offline.

Whats new in 1.6: • Listening presets: Save your favorite voice, speed, and audio settings, then switch between them in the reader. Each book remembers the preset you last used for narration. • Customizable skipping: Choose how many sentences to skip backward and forward, with separate settings for each direction. • Import previews: Review book covers and details before adding files, and choose a collection for the whole batch. • More accurate reading progress: Overall progress now accounts properly (previously used chapter count). Old progress updates automatically when you open a book. • Expanded library search: Search book titles and authors directly from All Collections, including books outside collections. • Smoother reading: Improved book-opening transitions, position restoration, and Continue Reading navigation. • More reliable playback: Improved handling of interruptions, chapter transitions, recaps, and repeated skips. After an interruption, narration restarts at the beginning of the interrupted sentence. • Improved iCloud sync: More reliable syncing of books, collections, reading positions, and activity, including progress updates when pausing background playback and fixes for deleted items reappearing. • Pronunciation improvements: Better handling of common English titles, abbreviations, and units, plus improved handling of slashes in Orate. • Clearer indicators: A more visible active sleep timer and an explanation when voice engines need extra preparation time.

Prepared listening sessions can start or resume in the background; other books open the app to get ready. • Spotlight search: find books by title and open them straight to your saved place. • Apple Personal Voice support: listen using your Personal Voice on supported devices. • A new Collection View: browse expandable collections with colorful covers, alphabetical sorting, and controls to expand or collapse them all. • Your preferred library view: choose to open to All Books, a specific collection, or All Collections. • Reading insights at a glance: view each book’s progress and reading and listening activity directly in your library, plus all-time totals in the analytics dashboard. • Easier voice management: preview Apple voices and show or hide voices individually or in bulk. • Reader improvements: your selected font now applies more consistently to books with custom formatting, and recaps finish playing before narration returns to your book.

Read recaps aloud or enable automatic recaps before resuming TTS listening on supported devices. This uses apples foundation models on device. TTS Speech Highlighting modes: Choose a background highlight or spoken-text color, with customizable colors. Improved reading analytics: A new Today view, rolling 30-day summaries, and day-specific reading and listening breakdowns. Listening improvements: Updated Supertonic models, reduced processing overhead, and improved background listening support. Reader fixes: More reliable position restoration and playback startup, animated position indicator/tracker, and corrected keep-screen-on behavior. Interface refinements: Improved toolbar spacing, library menus, and recap accessibility. After updating: Supertonic requires a fresh model download. Installed premium voices and saved preferences are preserved. Supertonic models are now lighter, and faster in inference.
