QuillSpace is a calm, distraction-free Mac app for writing your book. Organize a whole manuscript, focus on the words, and keep everything on your Mac. No subscription, no cloud, no AI.
A PLACE TO WRITE, AND TO ORGANIZE
QuillSpace gives you a clean three-column workspace. Keep your projects, chapters, and notes in the binder on the left, your sheets in the middle, and a quiet editor on the right. Drag to reorder, nest groups as deep as you need, and structure an entire novel or non-fiction book without losing the thread.
FOCUS ON THE WORDS
A rich-text, what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor with no markup to manage. Turn on Focus mode to dim everything but the line you are writing, or Typewriter mode to keep your current line centered. Bold, italic, headings, lists, tables, images, links, and find are all a shortcut away.
YOUR WORK STAYS YOURS
QuillSpace works fully offline and stores everything locally on your Mac. No account to create, no cloud sync you did not ask for, and no AI reading your manuscript. Your draft is yours alone.

• Notes: keep ideas, things to fix and research beside each sheet, plus notes for the whole project, in the Inspector's Notes tab.
• Automatic backups: every hour and when you quit, each project you've changed is saved as a .zip outside your library. Restore one any time from Settings ▸ Backups.
• Split at Cursor (⌥⌘K): cut a sheet in two where a new scene begins.
• Status: mark each sheet To Do, First Draft, Done or a step of your own, see it on the list and on index cards, and filter by it.
• Import Scrivener projects: binder, synopses, notes, status, labels and keywords, comments and targets.
• Standard manuscript format for submissions to agents and editors.
• Goals that fit your week: pick the days you write; the Goal popover also shows how long your book is.
• Fixes and improvements.
