ShoreScore: Beach Report
Beach conditions, scored live
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Every Florida beach, mapped, tracked, and scored in real time, so a glance tells you if it is good right now. Starting in Florida and expanding to new coastlines.
ShoreScore maps, tracks, and scores every beach on Florida's coast in real time. It folds live weather, surf, water quality, and storm radar into one simple score from 0 to 100, so a single glance tells you whether it is a good beach day right now. We are starting with Florida and expanding to new coastlines.
Open the app and you get a live score for the beach nearest you, an outlook for the next five days, and the best window to go today. A map shows every beach in a color that matches its score, with a live storm radar moving across the coast.
Every score is built from real sources: National Weather Service forecasts and surf zone advisories, Florida Department of Health water quality samples, and FWC red tide and sargassum reports. Tap any condition to see the detail behind it, from water quality and seaweed to UV, wind, waves, and rip current risk.
Turn on Definitely Go alerts and ShoreScore tells you when your nearby beaches are about to be great. No account is needed, and your location is only used to find your nearest beach.
more Finally an app that tells me if today’s a good beach day!Love this for Florida! I know ahead of time if there’ll be a lot of seaweed and whether the water quality is good for swimming. It’s a game changer to know if I should go to the beach today, or which beach I should go to! You can also rate the day right in the app. Highly recommend.

A new look. ShoreScore has a fresh icon and logo.
Find your beach fast. Tap Find my beach and the app opens the beach nearest you.
Plan your week. The planner shows every day on one scale and says when rain could come.
Simpler alerts. Three switches on You: Beach days, Water quality, and RainCheck.
1.7.7 5d ago
Share a RainCheck. Send your plan to the group chat with a picture of the answer. Friends open the same spot and hours, live.
The hours at a glance. RainCheck now shows your hours as one strip in three plain words: Likely dry, Rain possible, Rain likely.
Buttons that tell you what is happening. Keep me posted says when your alerts are on.
1.7.6 6d ago
RainCheck. Will it rain on your plan? Pick any spot and any hours, from a padel court to a rooftop bar, and get one answer: will it rain, how much, and for how long.
Keep me posted. Save a RainCheck and get a heads up an hour before, and a ping if the chance moves.
1.7.5 Oct 20
Links open the app. Tap a shorescore.app link in Messages, Mail or a search result, and ShoreScore opens right to that beach.
Use ShoreScore a lot? We may ask you one quick question about how it is working for you.
1.7.4 Oct 5
See seaweed risk on the map. Switch the map to Seaweed and every beach shows its risk, from Low to Severe, with one tap to the full report.
Seaweed risk now reads Low, Moderate, High or Severe, the same four words everywhere in the app.
Location off? The map now ranks beaches from your beach, so you still see the best one nearby.
Your first visit to the You tab starts with the beach you just looked at, ready to save.
1.7.3 Oct 3
Wind now reads in the unit you use. Pick mph, km/h or knots on the You tab, right under the temperature setting. If you read Celsius, wind comes in km/h with no extra tap.
Charts start now. Every hourly chart on All Conditions begins at the hour in progress, so the first thing you see is what is left of today, not the morning that already happened.
Tap a row in the Lounge or Swim sheet to jump to that reading. Tap the best window line on the home screen to open the week planner.
1.7.2 Sep 24
How the score works now opens inside the app. Tap the link in the Why sheet or any reading and read the method page right there, then tap Back to return to your beach.
The seaweed reading is the ShoreScore Seaweed Risk Index. The name says what the number is: the chance of seaweed reaching the beach, on a None to Severe scale, never a count of what is on the sand.
The line under the verdict now names the one condition that stands out today, in plain words.
1.7.1 Sep 14
See the day's rain, not just the storms.
The rain report now shows a real radar picture around your beach, on a real map, with the same green to red scale you already know from other radar apps.
It draws the whole rain field, so light rain shows up instead of only the heavy cores.
A caption tells you when radar is seeing rain higher up that may not reach the ground, so the picture never overstates what is falling on you.
The rain chart now scales to the day and labels the wettest hour.
1.7.0 Sep 9
Seaweed now has a number. The ShoreScore Seaweed Index rates the seaweed at every beach from 0 to 100, with the last two weeks on a chart and an arrow for where it is heading. Higher means more seaweed.
New on the You tab: a Weekend outlook switch for the weekly heads-up about your best beach day.
Tap "How our numbers work" on any score to see what goes into it and where the cuts between the words are.
New beaches added.
1.6.0 Sep 5
Save a beach and we will tell you when a fresh water test leaves the Good range. Your 3 nearest beaches are saved on first open, and a weekend guide names your best beach day, Thursday through Sunday.
