Know when to head outside. See your best viewing window, compare conditions, and get a heads-up two days before meteor showers, lunar eclipses and planet events. ClearNights tells you exactly when the sky above your location will be clear, dark, and steady – and taps you on the shoulder when something worth seeing is about to appear over your own backyard. Most weather apps only tell you whether it will rain. ClearNights answers the question every stargazer actually asks: is tonight worth heading out, right here, where I am? Everything is tuned to exactly where you are: when to look up, and what you'll see. NEVER MISS A CELESTIAL EVENT Turn on alerts and ClearNights can tell you, for your location, about: • Meteor showers, with peak timing and where to look • Planetary alignments and conjunctions visible from where you are • Lunar eclipses, full moons, and northern lights when the aurora may reach you • The best clear, dark nights headed your way – so the sky's biggest moments never slip by while you're stuck indoors The heads-up arrives around 7 PM local time. Alerts give you a well-timed heads-up when tonight is worth it, plus a heads-up two days before a meteor shower, lunar eclipse or planet event. WHAT YOU GET • An hour-by-hour stargazing score for tonight and the nights ahead, for your exact spot • A score ring for tonight, with an explainer of what drives it • Tonight's best viewing window, highlighted, with live status while it is on • A multi-night Outlook to plan sessions and trips • Several saved places, with tonight's score for each at a glance • Everything in your local time, down to the hour, on the 12- or 24-hour clock your language uses WHAT GOES INTO THE FORECAST Cloud cover, transparency (haze), seeing (atmospheric steadiness), and true darkness (which includes the Moon) are combined into a single 0–100 score for every hour, computed for your exact spot. Forecasts use NOAA's GFS model, refreshed four times a day, and the seeing model is calibrated on observatory measurements. MORE TO EXPLORE • Coming up: a calendar of the meteor showers, lunar eclipses, and planet events ahead, worked out for your spot • Up tonight: a card on the Tonight tab with what is in your sky, from darkness and the Moon to the planets • Journal: log each night out, for tonight, last night, or an earlier date, and earn badges along the way • Share card: tonight's forecast as an image MADE FOR Stargazers, telescope and binocular observers, and anyone hoping to catch a meteor shower, a lunar eclipse, or simply a beautiful sky. PLAN AROUND YOUR SKIES Save your backyard, a favorite dark spot, or your next trip, and compare them at a glance. Find anywhere by city search or your current location, or by US ZIP code. CLEARNIGHTS+ A ClearNights+ subscription is required to use the app. The Annual plan includes a 1-week free trial, and the Monthly plan has no free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase, or when a free trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in Apple Account settings. Clear skies. Terms of Use (EULA): https://clear-nights.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://clear-nights.com/privacy
