Heat Guardian
Heat sheets, times & cuts
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Heat Guardian is the calm, ad-free companion for swim meet day, built for the parents, swimmers and coaches who want the whole meet in their pocket.
Import the heat sheet, the psych sheet or the coach's entry list (upload the PDF or paste a public link) and every one of your swimmers' events lands on one clean page: event, heat, lane and seed time, grouped by day and session. No more flipping pages on a wet pool deck.
WHAT IT DOES
• Reads the sheet for you. Heat sheets, psycts all import. A seed-only sheet shows seedorder, and heats and lanes fill in the moment the real heat sheet is posted.
• Meet-day home. Everyone's races by day and session with heat, lane, seed time and up-next order. Before the meet it
is the plan; on the day it follows the meet.
• Follow the heats. The whole meet lane by lane with your swimmers highlighted. Tap a heat off as it finishes and up next moves with it.
• Cuts to chase. The next time standard for h there is to drop, championship qualifyingtimes included.
• Splits and pacing. Plan goal splits beforenes on deck with the split timer.
• Results that land. Import the results PDF, or paste a live results link while the meet runs, and every swum time, drop and new cut lands on the right swimmer.
• Two pools at once. Big meets run two pools side by side. Pick the one you are standing at and up next counts within it.
• Whole family, one page. Several swimmers, one meet, one view. Share a meet with another family by code.
• Apple Watch and Lock Screen. The next swimstays in the bag.
• Private by design. Your swimmers and meets stay on your device. No account, no ads, no tracking.
• Eight languages. English, Spanish, Chineseese, French and Russian.

Heat Guardian 1.8.4 brings the App Store page to your language: alongside English it now reads in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Vietnamese, Chinese and Russian, the eight languages the app already speaks. Buttons on the Swimmers tab are also easier to tap.
1.8.4 Oct 21
Heat Guardian 1.8.3 brings the 2027 championship cuts.
Pick your region's championship and each swimmer's times are measured against its 2027 qualifying cuts for their age group. Twelve regions grade in the app, and the rest stay a tap away until their sheets are posted. Short course 500, 1000 and 1650 cuts now count.
After a birthday, set the new age on the Swimmers tab, or let the next heat sheet do it, and the right cuts follow.

Relays as one row per lane
A relay is one row in its lane, with the squad letter and the swimmers listed underneath.
More of the sheet is read
A time standard printed as a single letter after a seed no longer hides that swimmer. On one championship psych sheet that brings back over nine hundred entries. Long surnames on a results page are read in full.
Re-read
Meets already on your phone are offered a re-read so the fixes reach them.
1.8.2 Sep 17
Have the meet before the heat sheet is posted.
Psych sheets now import as seed order, and the coach's entry list (the Team Manager entries report) imports too. When the host publishes the real heat sheet, import it and heats and lanes fill in.
The heat tracker knows what day it is. Before the meet it shows the plan and the start date, with no clock and no "up next" until the first session actually begins.
Meets are named from the cover page's date line, so a meet is called by its own name rather than "Meet".
Free, ad free, no account. Your swimmers and meets stay on your device.

Heat Guardian on meet day.
Import the heat sheet, by PDF or a public link, and every one of your swimmers' events appears on one page in event, heat and lane order, grouped by day and session.
Know the next time cut for each race and exactly how much there is to drop. Championship qualifying times are in there too.
Follow the whole meet lane by lane, with your swimmers highlighted. Tap a heat off as it finishes and the list moves with the meet, so up next always reflects where the meet actually is.
Time each swim on deck with the split timer. Plan goal splits before the race and log the real ones after.
Import the results PDF, or paste a live results link while the meet runs, and every swum time, drop and new cut lands on the right swimmer.
Meets that run two pools at once are handled: pick the pool you are standing at and up next counts within it.
The next swim shows on your Apple Watch and Lock Screen, so you are not holding a phone on a wet deck.
Eight languages. Free, ad free, no account. Your swimmers and meets stay on your device.

One box to add a meet.
Paste a code someone texted you, paste a link, or just type the meet's name. The same box takes all three and tells you which one it found. If you have set your club, its meets are already waiting when you open the screen.
A calmer Settings and About.
Both are grouped the way your phone groups things, so what you need is where you expect it. Your role, your team and your language sit together. The long explanations are all still there, folded away until you want them.
The app moves like an app.
Sections open and close instead of jumping. Sheets rise from the bottom of the screen. Everything you tap answers your finger.
Your team's colours.
Add your team logo and each swimmer's colour is taken from it, so the names on your screen look like your club.
Table view you can actually read.
Times line up down the column, your swimmer's name stays put while the rest scrolls across, and the guide to the column headings is one tap away instead of printed under every day.
As always: check event, heat and lane against the official heat sheet before a race.
1.7.0 Aug 11
• New: tap any swimmer for a full profile - best times, motivational grades, cuts to chase, and recent meet results.
• Find a meet: one search now covers far more meets.
• Smarter swimmers: link a heat-sheet swimmer to their profile, and official results update your logged times automatically.
• Cleaner meet-day cards, clearer time standards, and lots of polish.
1.5.2 Aug 4
Find a meet near you, anywhere in the country.
Heat Guardian now reads the published meet calendar of every USA Swimming
LSC, so hundreds of upcoming meets are searchable by name, by state, or by
how far they are from where you are standing. No account, nothing to set up.
Some meets get listed by their venue without a town. Rather than hide those,
the app shows what it knows and lets you add the location yourself in about
five seconds - and your answer goes live for every family looking at that
meet, not just for you.
Championship goals now understand that a season ends. When the championship
you were chasing finishes, the app moves you to the next one, which is the
opposite course about six months later. And when it cannot work out a target
time yet, it shows "-:--" instead of quietly leaving last season's number on
the screen. Times your swimmer has already earned are never touched.
Your swimmer's age now comes from the heat sheet itself. Before, an age typed
in once never moved, so the first birthday after that could grade an
11-year-old against 10 & Under standards.
Also: find your club and bind the short code it prints on heat sheets, or
paste your team's website if it is not listed yet.

Championship-ready.
Big meets broke the old reader, so it was rebuilt. Prelims and finals no
longer collide, heats never show more lanes than the pool has, and days
and sessions come out in the right order. A championship program that
used to read 458 entries now reads every one of them.
New on the heat sheet:
- Meet records, right under the event, and a nod when one falls
- Whose race it is - Girls or Boys - next to the age group
- Your swimmer is up in N heats, with a buzz and a notification, so you
can get back to the water in time
- Time splits without leaving the sheet
- Finished heats shrink instead of filling the screen, keeping your own
swimmers in view
Fixes that matter at a real meet:
- Two pools running at once no longer throw the time estimates out by
hours - each session is timed from its own start
- Entry times set in a 25-yard pool are graded as yards, not misread as
long course
- PB now means your best time, not your most recent one
- Every screen opens at the top
Also: find your meet in a shared library instead of hunting for a PDF,
re-read older meets with the improved reader, and working vibration
feedback on iPhone (it never worked before), with an off switch in
Settings.
1.4.0 Jul 24
- Official times for your whole team - the meet-wide backfill, the headline
- Know the moment results post - the notification
- A better read on the sheet - five parser fixes plus self-healing re-parse
- Disqualifications handled honestly - DQ/no-show no longer breaks cut math
- Easier on the eyes and the thumbs - contrast pass, tap targets, with a line about wet hands on a bright deck
- A calmer home screen - merged fueling/prep, simpler add-a-meet
- Smaller things - Heats tab, tap-to-watch, pull to refresh, edge to edge, update banner
1.3.6 Jul 21
• Fixed dropped swimmers: nicknames, "&" team codes, and tiled heat sheets now import your full roster.
• Whole-team official results, not just followed swimmers.
• Meets you already imported self-heal with parser fixes on first open.
• Location for "meets near you" is now approximate-only, plus polish.
1.3.5 Jul 16
RESULTS FIND YOU, RELIABLY - Official times now sync no matter how USA Swimming names the meet. Your linked swimmer's own meet history anchors the match, so results land as soon as they post.
CELEBRATE BY NAME - When a synced result clears a championship cut, Home congratulates your swimmer by name, right on the spot.
Plus small polish throughout. Have a great championship weekend!
1.3.4 Jul 15
The heat tracker is now your meet-day command center.
SKIP TO ANYWHERE - Jump straight to a day, session, or age group, or tap "My swimmer" to land on their next heat. No more scrolling past the morning session to find the afternoon.
GOALS ON EVERY LANE - Your swimmer's lane now shows their standard badge, the next cut they're chasing ("-> AA -1.7s"), and a trophy when they've made a championship cut. Teammates' lanes show their targets too. As soon as a time comes in, it's graded on the spot.
YOUR TEAM, EVERYWHERE - Pick your team once (or type it in) and give it a logo: it fills the header and marks every teammate on deck. Your swimmers get a filled star, teammates a hollow one. Tap a teammate's star to add them to your watch list in one step. New Team view on Home shows the whole team's schedule with one tap.
RESULTS FIND YOU - When results land (typed on deck, live results, or the USA Swimming sync), swum heats cross themselves off and Home shows a recap: swims, time drops, new cuts, and championship cuts made.
SMARTER IMPORTS - A re-parse button and pull-to-refresh re-read your meet from its source, so schedule changes and reader improvements reach meets you already imported. Same meet from a PDF and a shared code now merges into one.
PLUS - The tracker tab is now called Heats. Cleaner colors in dark mode. Your team's color now fills the whole screen, edge to edge. Dozens of small fixes.
All of it in 8 languages. Have a great championship weekend!
