Theoria: Church Fathers
Read, listen, ask the Fathers
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Theoria is a library of the Church Fathers — hundreds of works from 82 authors, from the Apostolic Fathers to the nineteenth century.
READ
A reader built for long texts: one chapter at a time, a table of contents that jumps straight to a heading, and a place-holder that remembers exactly where you stopped. Adjust the type, read in the dark, and pick up where you left off.
LISTEN
Audio narration is available for selected works. Listen with the text highlighted as it is read, from the lock screen or Control Center, and let one section carry into the next. A daily reading reminder keeps the practice going.
ASK THE FATHERS
A research companion that answers from the library itself and cites its sources. Every citation opens the passage in the reader, so you are reading the Fathers, not a summary of them. Start from a daily question or ask your own, and return to any conversation later.
MARK AND KEEP
Highlight a passage, attach a note, and find it again on every device you read on. Save works for later and build a shelf of what you mean to read next.
THEORIA ORIGINALS
New translations of works never before available in English, alongside modern-English renderings of older translations.
WHO IT IS FOR
Christians, inquirers, catechumens, students of theology, and anyone who wants to read the Fathers in their own words rather than about them. From the Apostolic Fathers and Athanasius to Chrysostom, Jerome, Augustine, Maximus the Confessor, and Gregory Palamas.
