Clam Finder
Clamming & fishing the Sound
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Clam Finder is your pocket companion for clamming and fishing the Long Island Sound. Whether you're chasing steamers on the flats or working a quahog bed at low tide, it helps you read the shoreline, follow the rules, and pick the right window to go.
AI VISION SCANNER
Point your camera at the wet sand and let the on-device scanner highlight the dimples, keyholes, and breathing siphons that give clams away. The HUD draws right over the live view so you can learn what a productive flat actually looks like.
TEACH THE AI
The scanner learns from you. Tag what you find -- a quahog show, a razor keyhole, an empty patch -- and Clam Finder builds its eye over time. Everything trains and runs on your device.
TIDE TIMER
Clams come out at low tide, so Clam Finder pulls live NOAA predictions for the station nearest you. See the next high and low at a glance and plan your dig around the water.
SPECIES GUIDE
Quahog (hard clam), soft-shell steamer, razor, and oyster -- each with real photos and the actual New York and Connecticut legal sizes, so you keep what's legal and put the rest back.
FISHING MODULE
Heading out with a rod too? Track what's biting and log your catches alongside your clamming.
CATCH LOG & BRAG REPORTS
Keep a running log of your hauls and generate a shareable brag card to send the crew.
Built for the shoreline. No account required -- just open it and go.
Note: Always check current state and town shellfishing regulations and closures before harvesting. Legal sizes and open areas can change.
Ratings & Reviews
We fine-tuned the AI Vision Scanner so it's steadier and less trigger-happy — fewer false detections, calmer on-screen highlights, and more reliable results when you sweep the flats. Plus minor performance and stability improvements.
