Wheels down in Jeddah, and the phone starts hunting for a network. The group leader has already sent the meeting time. Back home, somebody is waiting to hear that you made it.
That hour, and the days that follow it, are what Saudi eSIM is built for — prepaid mobile data for Umrah, for Hajj, and for a week of meetings in Riyadh. Nothing is taken out of the phone: the SIM you already use goes on handling calls, texts and WhatsApp on the number your family knows, and the eSIM does one job, mobile data on local networks, with 4G/LTE and 5G where the network offers it.
After you pay
Getting into the account takes Apple, Google or a code mailed to you; at no point is a password created. You pay by Apple Pay or card, and the eSIM turns up a short while later. Installing takes one tap, a QR code, or the details typed by hand — a couple of minutes, and it needs an internet connection while it works, which is why the night before the flight, at home on Wi-Fi, is the easy time for it. The line itself waits: you turn it on when the plane is on the ground. If none of that happened before departure, buying, installing, topping up and support all work from inside Saudi Arabia.
The plans
• Fixed data packs, unlimited plans, and day passes set to anything from 1 to 30 days.
• Paid up front, once; none of it quietly becomes a subscription.
• An unlimited plan does not go dark: when the day's high-speed allowance is spent, the connection keeps going at a lower speed until the next day.
• The data calculator puts a size on the plan before you pay for it.
• When an eSIM is running low, the app puts more on it, whichever plan it carries. The one line that takes nothing more is an eSIM whose time has already run out.
• Going on past the Kingdom? Two regional plans carry the rest of the trip: the Gulf, 6 destinations, as fixed data or as day passes, and the Middle East, 11 destinations, as fixed data alone. Neither comes as unlimited.
Plans collapse sometimes. An eSIM that is still uninstalled, with nothing used on it, is paid back in full: the window is 15 days from the purchase, and no explanation is required.
Before you buy for anyone, the hardware has to qualify: iPhone XS or newer with eSIM support, not locked to a carrier, on iOS 15 or later — or an iPad, if it is a cellular model with eSIM.

One account carries several eSIMs at the same time, and that is how a group travels together: whoever organized the journey can put a line on every traveler's phone before anyone leaves for the airport, then follow each balance in a single list and get a notification the moment one of them is running low.

For the one arranging the family's Umrah: each pilgrim's eSIM can now go straight to their own phone. Share eSIM sends the QR code, a link that installs it on each pilgrim's handset, and what to switch on after landing in Jeddah or Madinah.
Messages to our team on WhatsApp or by email now carry the eSIM and order they concern. If the bank's confirmation step fails, the app says plainly that you were not charged.
