Today. — Interstitial Journal
Private journal, on-device AI
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
A calm place for the moments between moments. Quick to capture, private by design, with on-device AI that reflects on your week — your words never leave your device.
Today. is a journal for the moments between moments.
Most journaling apps wait for you to sit down and write a page. Today. is built for the quick, interstitial captures you make all day — a thought on a walk, a line after a meeting, a photo, a voice memo, a single sentence. A sentence is enough.
But when you do want to sit and write at length, the full editor is right there. Jot a line or compose a considered entry — the same calm place fits both.
Then, when you want to look back, Today. helps you make sense of it — with AI that runs entirely on your device.
CAPTURE, FAST
• Write in a tap — from the app, a Home Screen widget, the share sheet, or Siri
• Voice memos, transcribed on-device so they're searchable and readable
• Photos and links, right inline
• Tags and moods when you want them, never required
WRITE AT ANY DEPTH
A real editor for the days you want one:
• Headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and highlights
• Bulleted and numbered lists, block quotes, and code blocks
• Alignment, indentation, links, and inline photos
The same entry can be a single line today and a full page tomorrow.
REFLECT, PRIVATELY
• Reflection: a gentle observation about your recent days
• Ask Your Journal: ask a question, get an answer grounded in your own entries
• Weekly Review: themes, what shifted, small wins, and a question for tomorrow
• Open Loops: resurface the things you said you'd do
It all runs on-device with Apple Intelligence. Your entries are never sent to a server for AI. Ever.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No accounts, no tracking, no ads, no analytics
• Your journal syncs across your Apple devices through your own iCloud
• Export everything as Markdown or JSON, any time — it's your writing
YOURS TO SHAPE
• Organize entries into Volumes
• Themes and journal fonts to make it feel like yours
FAIR BY DEFAULT
The AI features are free for everyone. If Today. becomes part of your day, an optional tip or supporter tier keeps it independent and unlocks the theme and font wardrobe. No paywalls on the things that matter.
AI features require a device with Apple Intelligence.
