Wobbly is a phonics app you don't have to feel guilty about handing over. Built the way a parent would build it: no ads, no data harvesting, no infinite scroll. Just clear lessons your child can finish and put down. Child safety and privacy by design, not as an afterthought.
Wobbly teaches children ages 3 to 8 to write every letter and number, to hear the sounds inside words, and to read.

It plays like a game and teaches like a tutor. Children collect stars, hunt animals by their first sound, open treasure chests of questions and make a storybook cat answer back. It is all phonics in a costume, so the minutes you hand over are minutes of real practice.
SEVEN DAYS OF EVERYTHING, FREE
Open the app and everything is unlocked for a week. No card, no account, no email, nothing to cancel. When the week ends Wobbly settles back to the free letters, and it never bills you. Until you buy, a grown-up unlocks each session with Face ID or the PIN.
THEY CAN USE IT ALONE, OR WITH YOU
Every instruction is spoken and every button is a picture, so a child who cannot read yet can get going alone. If they hesitate, Wobbly says the hint, then points, then shows them.
WATCH, THEN TRACE, NEVER WRONG
Wobbly draws each stroke first, with a traveling dot and a spoken prompt ("Start at the top!"). Then your child traces with a finger, and arrows plus gentle haptics keep little hands on track. Apple Pencil works on iPad. Wobbly lines are okay, every finished letter earns at least one star, and there are no buzzers, no red ink and no failure screens. Start from the wrong end and Wobbly rewinds and points at the right place, and b and d, p and q get their own gentle lesson.

Seven listening games that build the ear a reader needs before letters make sense: rhyming, clapping syllables, first sounds, matching sounds to letters, blends, a picture game on 54 clay animals, and a word builder. None ever locked.
LEARN TO READ, ONE STEP AT A TIME
Nine guided reading levels that grow alongside writing:
* 26 letter sounds, each with a picture word ("A is for Apple")
* "Sound it out" blending that slides letter-to-letter into a whole word
* 500+ decodable words: 34 word families, blends, letter buddies, magic e, vowel teams, word endings, and tricky sight words
* Levels close with real sentences to read, not single words
* The picture is the reward, so your child reads the word first, then sees it
STORY TIME THEY CAN ACTUALLY READ
Thirteen storybooks built only from the sounds your child already knows, so the first book they finish is one they read themselves. Tap a printed word and it says itself; tap the cat and the cat answers.

Every drawing, star and recording stays on your device, which is why the privacy label says "Data Not Collected." Nothing leaves it unless a grown-up switches on the optional iCloud backup, which is off by default.
