Arbor 1.1.2 adds an ancestor view and fixes a problem when adding a GEDCOM file. • Ancestors — a new view next to Tree: one person's ancestors, five generations at a time, with an empty box for each ancestor you haven't found yet. Tap the arrow on the right to go further back. To choose the person, open their card and tap “Set as home person”. • Fixed — adding a GEDCOM file could merge two people with the same name when only their year of birth was known. Trees saved by earlier versions open exactly as they did before.

Arbor 1.1.1 makes it much easier to connect the people you add, and fixes a relationship label. • Connect as you add — the + button now asks who the new person is related to: a parent, child, partner or sibling of someone already in your tree. No more people stranded on the top row. • Build the family faster — create a new partner or add a sibling straight from anyone's card. A new child is linked to both parents, and a second parent becomes the first one's partner. • Add from the tree — press and hold anyone in the tree to add a parent, partner, child or sibling right there. • Fixed — an uncle's wife is now an aunt-in-law, not an uncle-in-law. The same goes for the spouses of nephews, cousins and grandparents. • Fixed — the date of death entered when adding a new parent or child is now saved. • Search by surname and first name — type both, or just the first letters, in any order. Essential when many people share a name. • See how two people are related — the relationship finder now shows every closest common ancestor and the full line from them down to each person, with names and years. • Readable ancestor fan — full names with years of birth and death instead of initials. Scroll to explore up to five generations; tap anyone to open their card. • More faithful GEDCOM import — people recorded as deceased without a date are no longer shown as living with an impossible age, the main name is kept instead of an alias or nickname, and French Republican calendar dates are read. Re-importing the file refreshes the names. • Clearer tree — first and last names are equally readable, long names no longer overlap in very large trees, and lists show years of birth and death to tell namesakes apart. • Honest dates — a date known only by its year, or as “about 1850”, is now shown that way instead of as 1 January 1850, and no longer produces a birthday. Set it yourself with “What is known” when editing a person. Trees saved by earlier versions open exactly as they did before.

Arbor 1.1 adds five tools, marriages, adoptive parents, and a tree that keeps up as it grows. • Ancestor fan — up to five generations around anyone in your tree, in the classic pedigree fan. • All relatives — everyone related to one person, grouped by kinship and filtered by degree. • Life timeline — a person's dated events in order, with their age at each one. • Upcoming birthdays — the year ahead, with an optional reminder. • Tree check — impossible dates, implausible ages and circular family links, listed and explained. • Find duplicates — the same person entered twice, merged into one card that keeps every family link. • Marriages and adoptive parents — a date, a place and an end if the union ended; any parent link can be marked as adoptive. • GEDCOM keeps more — places, occupations, notes, marriages and adoptive links now survive both import and export. They used to be dropped on the way in. • Big trees — past 1,000 people the tree opens as a zoomable map. Tested on trees of 24,000 and 50,000 people. Trees saved by earlier versions open exactly as they did before.
