Historical commentary, a Players grid, and better game browsing. • Commentary on the legendary games: move-by-move notes from the classic annotators — Steinitz, Lasker, Fischer, Tartakower and more — follow along as the game plays, each credited to who said it and linked to its source. Hide it, or pick which sources to show. • Find commentary for any historical game in a player's database, with quick links to search the web when none has been published. • AI commentary updated to the latest Claude model, with clearer messages when something goes wrong. • Players: switch between a list and a photo grid, sort by name, country, games or score, and search. • Game lists: zoom the boards with a slider (or pinch), switch to a grid, sort by date, opponent, opening or length, and filter by result, colour or search. • Favourite openings now show their names, and tapping an opening or opponent lists those games. • Chessnut: Disconnect now really disconnects, and the screen stays awake while your board is following a game so it no longer stops when the phone sleeps. There's also a small "Keep screen on" switch. • One speed control for replays — it also sets your board's pace while following. • Dark mode is now readable throughout.

Chessnut Move: control how fast moves reach your board. Four seconds was not enough for the pieces to finish a move — castling especially, where two pieces move and one has to thread past the other. • New pace control: send moves to your Chessnut board no faster than one every 10 seconds. Adjustable from 5 to 30, or switch it off. It sits in the follow panel and in Chessnut Boards, whether or not a board is connected. • Fast games no longer outrun the pieces. Moves arriving quicker than your pace are queued and played out in order, in full — so when players blitz out the end of a game you can watch it finish on the board instead of losing it. • Leaving a game lets the queued moves finish rather than sweeping the pieces mid-game. Stop still stops immediately, and Skip to live jumps the board to the current position whenever you want it. • The replay speed slider now reaches 30 seconds per move and shares the same setting. • The pace you choose is remembered.
