VitalSim Rhythm: ECG Trainer
Learn ECG rhythm recognition
$9.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Now fits iPhone Duo, folded or open. Learn 27 ECG rhythms with guided lessons, then practice on a live strip you can freeze, measure, and compare.
VitalSim Rhythm teaches ECG rhythm recognition on iPhone and iPad: a guided lesson for each of its 27 rhythms, plus a live, configurable rhythm strip you can freeze, measure, and compare.
Built for nursing students, nurses, paramedics, and medical students who want structured, repeatable practice reading rhythm strips. Every waveform is a simulated teaching model, and the app is for education only.
LEARN
• Start here: electrical vs mechanical activity, the parts of the ECG and where to measure them, and one method for reading any strip.
• Five group overviews (sinus, supraventricular, conduction, ventricular/paced, arrest), each with a quiz, and a lesson for each of the 27 rhythms with strip recognition, component breakdowns, and calipers. A Rhythm Quiz asks one question on each rhythm.
• A 367-term glossary with short term lessons, confusing pairs, and abbreviations.
• Progress is saved on your device, and a Review section brings back rhythms where you missed a step of the strip scan.
PRACTICE
• Live trainer: pick any of the 27 rhythms and dial the heart rate.
• Pro Vision colors the P wave, PR segment, QRS complex, ST segment, and T wave so you can see each part of the beat.
• Calipers, a calibrated grid with a box overlay, adjustable waveform size (gain), and 25 or 50 mm/s paper speed.
• Freeze the strip and open Analyze: reference intervals, an arrhythmia timeline, and a step-by-step interpretation. Turn on Teaching to work it out yourself before you reveal it.
• Compare two rhythms with pairs such as SVT vs VT and AFib vs atrial flutter, side by side or stacked on narrower screens.
• A STEMI view teaches ST elevation, affected lead territories, and reciprocal changes.
• Save strips to your Workbook to study later.
WORKS WHERE YOU STUDY
• Fits iPhone and iPad, and iPhone Duo folded or open.
• Works fully offline: no account, no ads, and no data collected.
EDUCATION ONLY, NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE
VitalSim Rhythm is education software. The waveforms are simulated teaching models, not real patient data. It does not connect to sensors or read real ECGs, and it is not for diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decisions. In practice, follow your program's teaching and your facility's protocols.
Ratings & Reviews
VitalSim Rhythm now fits iPhone Duo and smaller iPhones, and it has a new app icon.
• iPhone Duo: the app fits the outer display when folded and the larger inner display when open.
• Analyze and Compare now fit the screen on iPhone, including smaller models. When there is more to read, the screen scrolls instead of cutting it off.
• Rows of controls show a soft fade at the edge where more controls scroll into view.
• Compare stacks its two strips on screens too narrow to show them side by side, such as the iPhone Duo inner display held upright.
• The caliper A and B tags now sit inside the strip, and you can drag a caliper by its tag.
• Glossary search has a Done button that closes the keyboard and keeps your search.
• A new app icon.
No rhythms, lessons, or teaching content changed in this update. VitalSim Rhythm remains education software and is not a medical device.
