Cairn: A Journal for Your Kids

Voice diary & memory keeper

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

One question a day. One tap. About twenty seconds of your voice. Over time, it becomes a real book for each of your kids - written the only way that matters: in your words. Cairn is a voice journal for Dad & Mom - and any parent - who want to leave their kids something real. No blank page, no typing, no streaks. Just one good question and the way you actually talk. HOW IT WORKS • Cairn asks one question. ("What's something she did this week you don't want to forget?") • Tap once and answer out loud - about twenty seconds is plenty. • Your voice is saved and transcribed on your device, then filed into that child's book. • Chapters build themselves from what you talk about: Everyday, Who They Are, Advice, My Story, Milestones… YOUR WORDS, NOT AI'S Cairn tidies "um"s and false starts - and stops there. It never rewrites you, never polishes you, never puts words in your mouth. Every passage keeps a "Hear me say it" button, so your kids don't just read it. They hear you. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your words stay on your device. We never see them. No AI server ever sees them. Everything - recording, transcription, organizing - happens on your iPhone. No account. No feed. No analytics on your content. Nothing is uploaded. A BOOK YOU ACTUALLY OWN Export any child's book whenever you want: a beautifully typeset PDF plus every original recording. It's yours to keep, print, or hand over - no subscription holding it hostage. FOR EVERY KID YOU'VE GOT Each child gets their own book and their own color. Record for one, or capture a moment that belongs to all of them. Twenty seconds a day. A lifetime of "I can still hear his voice." — Requires an iPhone with Apple Intelligence for transcript cleanup and organizing. Recording, the book, and export work on every supported device (iOS 26+).

Ratings & Reviews

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

This update keeps your recordings safe and makes daily capture easier: - Your screen now stays awake while you're recording, so a capture is never cut short. - Tap the question on your home screen (or in a book's record sheet) to get a different one whenever the moment calls for it. - New daily reminder: turn it on in Settings and pick your time to get a gentle nudge when today's question is ready. Off by default.
