- Recovery key. If you sync, BlackBook offers you a recovery key. Save it, and a new phone opens your synced book with that key, then asks for a PIN of its own. Your PIN never leaves your device. - On iPhone, once you have a recovery key, this phone's copy of your book's key opens only on this phone, even from a backup. - Very large books now sync in full. - Clearer wording about what the encryption does.

• BlackBook Pro has its own row in the menu, with Restore purchase. • Plan a date from a person's page. It shows on Today, and asks how it went afterwards. • Insights now charts how your dates were rated and how your conversations felt, over time. • Search now looks inside dates, logged contact, reminders, photo captions and debts. Each result shows what matched and opens right to it. • Tapping a person in the Spending, Tallies or Debts report opens that sheet. • Tick off Bring up topics straight from Today's upcoming-date card. • A planned date stays put until you save its recap. • Importing a file or restoring a snapshot now carries through to your other devices. • If a change can't be saved to your device, the app says so and offers Retry. • Larger tap targets throughout, and "Heating up" is now "Picking up". • One-tap logs on Today can be undone. • No white flash at launch, and money is read and shown to the cent.

Your whole book is now encrypted on this device, not only photos and journal notes. Names, numbers, reminders and everything else are locked behind your PIN. An existing book converts the first time you unlock it. If a save to this device ever fails, BlackBook now tells you instead of carrying on. Moving someone to your other space never removes the original unless the copy is safely stored. Sync no longer shows Synced after a check that did not get through. Wipe all data now also erases local backups and cached photos. With everything encrypted, Forgot PIN erases the whole book on this device.

Easier to read in both vaults. Secondary text and hints were slightly too faint in the second vault and on Glass panels; every text tone is now measured against the ground it sits on and cleared to 4.5:1 or better. Glass panels are darker where they carry text, so hints over the coloured field stay legible. If the server refuses to delete a photo or video, the delete is now queued and retried instead of the file being left behind with nothing pointing at it.

Dates now follow your local calendar day. In the evening, a note could file itself under tomorrow, a reminder due tomorrow showed as due today, and today's activity read as a day old. All fixed. New contacts open the full contact screen instead of a short sheet, and the + page puts New contact and New photo at the bottom, next to the +. New photo now opens a photo sheet rather than the note composer. Undo on deletes: debts, payments, reminders, topics and quick logs all offer a way back. Picking several photos at once keeps all of them. A PIN can be typed on a keyboard, not only tapped.

Pinned headers. On Today, Insights and Gallery, the search field and the view switcher now stay in place while the list scrolls, the way People already worked. Fixed a crash in People search on a contact saved without a name. Clearer money. Deleting a debt now names the debt it deletes, and a settled balance no longer reads as a warning.

New look, if you want it. Appearance in Settings now offers Flat, exactly what you have today, or Glass: dark translucent panels over a softly lit background. Flat stays the default, so nothing changes unless you choose it. Keyboard and accessibility. Every panel, sheet and dialog now closes with Escape, keeps Tab inside it, and hands focus back to whatever opened it. Swipe actions on the People list can be reached without a touchscreen. Fixes. Ages no longer read a year high in the hours before a birthday, and Insights counts Active the same way the People screen does.

Fixes subscription availability, so BlackBook Pro can be purchased and restored again.

Signing in and locking up got smoother, and notifications got more reliable. • Sign-in is now a full page instead of a floating sheet, so the keyboard never covers what you're typing. • Face ID prompts on its own the moment the lock screen appears. • Notifications catch up on anything scheduled earlier today instead of quietly skipping it, and the app tells you when this device hasn't granted permission yet. • Stronger PIN security: 6-digit PINs, and PINs are no longer stored in a reversible form. • Alerts and confirmations now match the app instead of using system pop-ups. • Fixes: a keyboard shortcut that could throw an error, and deleted photos and videos now clean up completely.

New Capture screen. One tap opens a full-screen hub to log a note, photo, date, reminder, or flag, track money you've lent or borrowed, or add someone new. Calendar on Today. See your dates, birthdays, and reminders laid out across the month. Multiple numbers and socials. Add more than one phone number and any social handle to each person. Reminders. Opt in to gentle nudges for birthdays and upcoming dates. Plus a smoother first run and calmer keyboards throughout.
