Basketball Stats & Drills

Hardwoods started as a scorebook. It turned into a way to watch your kid get better. IN THE STANDS Track just your kid. Pick the stats you care about, tap them as they happen, and watch the season take shape game by game. When the buzzer sounds, her stat card goes to the grandparents in one tap. Missed a game? Another parent can send it to your phone, and it lands in her profile like you tracked it yourself. Or track the whole team. Team Stats puts every player on your roster on one screen — pick a player, tap what she did, done. No opponent, no official book, and when the game ends there's a box score to text the coach. Any player with a profile on your phone gets her line saved there too. IN THE DRIVEWAY Run shooting drills and chart every shot. Nine drills built in, from form shooting and the Mikan drill to three-point circuits — or pick Open Gym and tap the court wherever she shoots. One tap per shot, then a shot chart showing exactly where the ball is going in. Set a target, and watch the percentages climb across the season. AT THE SCORER'S TABLE Run the official book when it's your turn. Rosters, per-player stats, fouls and foul-outs, periods and overtime, timeouts, technicals, and a complete box score you can export as a PDF or share as an image. Or use Simple Scorebook when you just need the score — two teams, no roster, no setup. ACROSS THE SEASON Every archived game with win-loss records, scoring trends, and player season averages. Every practice session with per-zone shooting percentages. The whole arc, in one place. Every drill explains itself on screen, so you don't need to know the drills to run them. Undo is everywhere, and an in-progress game or session survives your phone dying. No accounts. No ads. No subscriptions. Every stat stays on your phone unless you choose to send it. WHY HARDWOODS EXISTS They kept asking for volunteers to run the scorebook at my daughter's club basketball games, and one day the volunteer was me — with no idea what I was doing. After a few games of paper and scribbles, I figured there had to be a better way. So I built one. Then it grew. Now, most nights, I sit in the stands and track my daughter — or the whole team, when the coach wants the numbers. And in the driveway, we run drills and watch her percentages climb. That's Hardwoods: built at real games, for the parent in the bleachers and the one at the scorer's table.

Back up your kid’s season Hardwoods keeps everything on your phone and nothing in the cloud. That’s what keeps it private — but it also means deleting the app would take the season with it. Now it doesn’t have to. Open your kid’s profile, tap BACK UP EVERYTHING, and send the file to yourself: games, training sessions, and her settings, all in one. Open that file on any phone and it all comes back. Restoring skips anything already there, so an older backup fills the gaps and leaves newer games alone. Send the coach the whole season Team Seasons has a SHARE SEASON button. A coach with Hardwoods opens that one file and gets everything — the record, every box score, and the player season averages table — instead of a screenshot he can’t dig into. Send him an updated file whenever you like; games he already has are skipped. Sharing a single game still works too, straight from its box score. Turnovers and blocks Team Stats now tracks up to twelve stats, so you can add turnovers and blocks without giving anything up. Both get their own column in the season averages — TO/G and BPG — when your team tracks them. Worth switching on before a game rather than after: a stat you didn’t track can’t be filled in later. Smaller things The end-of-game prompt in Team Stats already knows your score — it’s been counting all game — so it fills it in and puts the cursor on the opponent’s. And opening a shared game file no longer leaves a stray screen behind when you back out of it. As always: no accounts, no ads, no tracking. Nothing leaves your phone unless you choose to send it.
