Mac

Now free to scan. macOS hides tens of GB behind "System Data": caches, logs, APFS snapshots, old backups. Sediment sizes and explains each one, then reclaims it safely. "System Data" is the most confusing number on your Mac. It quietly grows to tens, sometimes over a hundred, gigabytes, and macOS won't tell you what's inside it or how to clear it safely. On modern Macs, where storage is soldered in and upgrades cost a fortune, that wasted space is real money. Sediment opens the black box. It shows you exactly what your "System Data" is made of, explains every category in plain language, and lets you reclaim the safe parts, one item at a time, with no guesswork. WHAT SEDIMENT FINDS • User and app caches that pile up over time • Xcode caches and DerivedData (for developers) • Application logs and crash / diagnostic reports • Old iOS / iPadOS device backups • Mail downloads and attachment caches Every item is explained: what it is, why macOS made it, and exactly what you lose if you remove it. Safe items are pre-selected; riskier ones are opt-in. Whatever can go to the Trash, does, so it stays reversible. FREE TO SEE, ONE-TIME UNLOCK TO RECLAIM Sediment is a free download. Scanning and the full breakdown cost nothing. Reclaiming space is a single in-app purchase: pay once, no subscription, ever. WORTH REAL MONEY With storage prices at record highs, every gigabyte you reclaim is space you'd otherwise pay Apple to add, and can't upgrade later. Sediment even shows what your reclaimable space would cost at today's prices. PRIVATE, 100% LOCAL Everything runs on your Mac. No account, no tracking, nothing uploaded. HONEST ABOUT LIMITS Because App Store apps run sandboxed, a couple of deeper areas, APFS local snapshots and protected system caches, can't be cleared here. Sediment is upfront about exactly what it can and can't touch. See what's really inside "System Data." Reclaim what's safe. Keep the SSD you paid for.

A much more accurate System Data figure. The old estimate counted your own large files (build folders, model weights, disk images) as system data and could overstate it by hundreds of GB. Sediment now measures the folders macOS actually keeps System Data in. And it names all of them. Whatever isn't reclaimable is still listed, folder by folder, with what it holds and why. Open any one to see which app is responsible, or jump straight to it in Finder. Nothing there is deletable; it's listed so the number finally makes sense. Also: your last scan is waiting when you reopen the app, old iOS Simulator devices are now found, and anything you select is re-measured before it is removed.
