Hold your iPad sideways — the layout now fits landscape on big screens. And a new app icon: the coach's cap joins the record.

The process selector has a visible handle: an eject button at the card's crown, which the coach now introduces first. Tap any dial to set it directly, and the card keeps one even rhythm between its rows.

Turning a dial now catches the light along its band. And the launch screen's card and Play button are the right shapes again, instead of stretched ones.

Each dial's marker is now a plain triangle pointing outward, instead of a disc carrying a small symbol — it points at the setting rather than covering it.

The wheel's centre now keeps the sample offset's name and value on screen at all times, instead of showing it only while you drag the playhead.

The marker on each dial now rides just outside its band instead of on it, so a dial's name and its reading are never covered by the setting itself.

Housekeeping: the App Store screenshots now show the dial readings the app actually displays.

Tap any dial to set it — the marker jumps to where you tapped, instead of having to drag it round the ring. Each dial's band now also reads its own setting and unit.

The name engraved on each dial's band now steps aside when the value marker passes over it, so a setting no longer hides the label it belongs to.

The two dials around the wheel are a quarter thinner, so the waveform is the loudest thing on it again. Their names sit properly on them now, and when a process has both dials, phase drift reads at the lower left instead of stacking on top of process amount. Raised to iOS 15.

The mathematics sheet behind the wave now carries its plots. Every process draws the same chart the website does, from the same arithmetic — the app replays the page's own working rather than keeping a second copy of it. Fixes a long press on the ring quietly nudging phase drift on its way to summoning the playhead: holding still no longer counts as twisting.

The wheel now explains itself. On first run it names its parts one at a time — what to twist, what to tap, what to take hold of — spotlighting each in turn over the live wheel, without stopping the demo. The cap in the card's corner brings it back whenever you want it; the wave beside it opens the mathematics behind whichever process is loaded. The right channel's playhead is far easier to catch on short takes, and you can now summon it instead of chasing it: hold anywhere on the ring and it comes to your finger. Both waves then hold still while you place it, the audio playing on underneath, and the new position takes effect when you let go. Fixes a take that could keep playing underneath the ones opened after it.

A rebuilt control wheel. The phase-drift bezel now sits outermost and fills to show how far it is wound; the record wear spreads across the whole card; the process name is engraved into the disc. Centre-panned processes read MONO and draw one ring instead of two identical rings stacked on each other. Saved takes scroll with the page instead of inside their own window. Rhythmic construction spreads its notes across the stereo field as the cycle fills, instead of panning every one to the left — the right channel had no events at all, so its ring drew flat and its meter never moved. On iPad the page now spends the width it was leaving unused down each side, and the wheel no longer reserves height it cannot fill — the gaps around the dial are equal there at last.

The wheel is now the whole instrument: choose the process right on the dial, and set drift, intensity and tempo with its rings — or spin the record itself to tap in a tempo. Also in this update: - The process selector on the wheel is easier to spot and always shows the full process name. - Loops play seamlessly, with no clicks at the loop point. - Preparing audio no longer freezes the app; a notice shows while it works. - The share dialog names the take being shared and shows the audio length of both files.
