LIL1: Private Baby Monitor

Local-only, never goes online

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad

New in 1.5.0: reach at a glance. Both devices show live how far the connection reaches, before it drops. No cloud, no account, never a subscription. LIL1 turns two of your own Apple devices, iPhone, iPad, or Mac, into a private baby monitor. Audio, and video on demand, stream directly between your two devices over Apple's local peer-to-peer connection. Nothing ever touches a server, the cloud, or the internet. Most baby monitors send your nursery to someone else's servers. LIL1 has no server to send anything to. The feed only ever lives on your own devices, so there is nothing to breach, nothing to leak, and nothing for us to collect. WHY PARENTS CHOOSE LIL1 Local-only by design Your devices connect directly over Apple's peer-to-peer transport. No backend, no cloud, no router required, and nothing to breach. Encrypted and PIN-paired The connection is always encrypted, and a one-time 6-digit PIN means only your own devices can ever connect. Sound alerts, even with the screen off The parent unit watches the sound level and notifies you when a loud sound keeps up. A short cough or a closing door is ignored; a crying baby comes through. Tune the sensitivity with a live sound meter until it fits your home. Audio always, video on demand Lightweight live audio is the default, so the baby unit's battery lasts the night. When you want to take a look, pull up the video stream, in portrait or landscape, and zoom right in. Talk to your baby Hold to talk and your voice plays on the baby unit: a few calm words from the next room are often all it takes. Release, and you are listening again. Brighter video in the dark When the nursery goes dark, the camera automatically takes in more light and brightens the picture, so you can check on your baby without turning on a light. Dim the screen from your side Send the baby unit's screen to black right from the parent device, and wake it again, without entering the room. Battery at a glance The parent unit always shows the baby unit's battery level and charging state. Reach at a glance Both units show live how far the connection reaches, so you see the link getting thin before it drops. Listen together More than one parent device can connect to the same baby unit, so both of you, or the grandparents, can listen at once. Works with no internet On the same Wi-Fi, or just nearby with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, a direct link forms even with no router and no internet. Also on your Mac The same app runs on Apple Silicon Macs, in either role: leave a MacBook near the crib, or keep an eye from the desk while you work. Accessible to every parent VoiceOver, Voice Control, the largest text sizes, reduced motion, and state never shown by color alone, declared right on the App Store. Apple-native, no SDKs Built entirely on Apple frameworks. No third-party dependencies, no analytics SDKs, nothing phoning home. UP AND RUNNING IN UNDER A MINUTE 1. Open the app on both devices and choose Baby on one, Parent on the other. 2. The baby unit shows a 6-digit PIN. Enter it on the parent device to pair securely. 3. Live audio starts immediately. Tap to pull video whenever you want a peek. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT - No account, no sign-up, no email required. - No cloud, no servers, no internet routing of your feed. - No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers. - Microphone and camera are used only to stream directly to your other device. Nothing is recorded or stored. TRY IT FREE, THEN A ONE-TIME PURCHASE LIL1 is free to try. You get 10 minutes of free monitoring to pair your two devices and check the audio and video quality. A one-time purchase then unlocks unlimited monitoring. One purchase, no subscription, and it works on every device signed in to your Apple Account. WHAT YOU NEED Two devices running iOS 17 or later, in any mix of iPhone and iPad; a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) can stand in for either one. One acts as the baby unit, the other as the parent unit. More parent devices can join whenever you want to listen together. Your baby's feed only ever lives on your own devices.

New: reach at a glance. Both devices now show how far the connection reaches, live, measured by small round-trip probes between them. Wander through the house and you see the link getting thin before it drops, not after. Also new: LIL1 is accessible to every parent. VoiceOver, Voice Control, text that scales to the largest sizes, reduced motion, and state never shown by color alone, all supported throughout the app and declared on the App Store. As always, everything stays between your two devices. No cloud, no server, nothing to leak.
