TideStitch: Quilt Designer

See your quilt before you sew

Free · In‑App Purchases

Built by a quilter who got tired of graph paper. Lay out a sampler from any blocks, share a design with a friend, and see it quilted before you sew a stitch. Quilting's scariest moment is committing to a design you can only half-see in your head. TideStitch is where you see it for real first: lay out your quilt block by block and see the whole thing before you cut a single piece. No graph paper, no colored pencils, no math: TideStitch works out the finished and cut sizes, so you walk away with an accurate cut list instead of guesswork. Sampler quilts, shared designs, and a Lone Star you can take apart. Sampler quilts in Design Your Own: • Pick Sampler when you start a board, tap Blocks on the rail, and the palette fills with your Studio blocks and the whole catalog. Tap a cell to place one. • Mix sizes. Drag a marquee of any shape before you pick, or set a block's finished size on the ruler, and TideStitch fits spacer pieces around it so the board squares up. A rectangular block lands at its own shape, and you choose where it sits in its spot. • Fit tells you whether the top comes apart in straight sections, and the sew order names them: make section A, then join the sections to finish the top. • The cut list bills every placed block by its real units at its real size. Share a design: • Share… on any design of your own, from the list or the editor menu, packs that one quilt into a file for AirDrop, Messages, Mail or Files. • The other quilter opens it in TideStitch read-only and taps Duplicate to Edit to make their own copy. No accounts, no server. Lone Star: • Up to 8 diamonds a point (was 6), with the ring colors glowing all the way to the tips. • Design one point and the star stamps it into all eight: paint diamonds by cell or by ring, pick a Glow or Nested Star fill, lean the ramp toward the rows or the columns, and choose Rotational or Mirror symmetry. The strip sets and sew order follow, and a mirrored star bills its two diamonds honestly. • In Studio: sash between the diamonds, frame them into hollow snowflake diamonds, split them on either diagonal, or merge a run into one parallelogram. Each prints a real cut list and sew order, and the strip-set drawings show the sashing. Quilting: • Import a longarm design file (DXF, QLI, HQF, TAP, CSV or a coordinate list) into the quilting preview and it is lofted over your top, tiled edge to edge at a repeat width you set. The preview is still not saved with the design. • Quilting on a photo, under Resources → Tools: photograph a finished top, pin its corners, and preview a pantograph lofted over the real fabric. Share a before-and-after. Your first four previews are free; after that it is part of the one-time unlock. Free tier: • The three bundled starters now arrive painted, and a free account can repaint any of them with its own stash and see the full pattern on screen without spending one of its four designs. Studio: • Strips inside a split shape: tap one triangle of a split cell and the strips run to that piece's own edges. Fixed: • On iPhone, a long design name no longer pushes the editor menu into a second More. • A phone in landscape gives the quilt the room it wasted below the palette. • Splitting a cell after using the Strips tool no longer wipes the diagonal.
