Rewrite English without changing what you mean. Type or paste a sentence and Better Writing checks grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and tone with a language model that runs on your device.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Improve a sentence, a paragraph, or a whole message, and see what changed and why
• Refine a result again: Shorter, Formal, Simpler, or another take
• Elevate for sharper word choice and tighter phrasing
• Draft mode: dump rough points and get them written out as a message, email, clear paragraphs, or an outline, using your supplied notes as its source; review the result before sending
• Draft a reply from a conversation screenshot
• Save tone and wording preferences and have them included in later edits
• Optional rules applied after an edit: common British spelling variants, removed exclamation marks, and expanded common unambiguous contractions
• Search saved sessions and browse a library of English grammar and style rules
• Hear edited text read aloud in a natural on-device voice
• Edit text from other apps with the Share extension, and use Siri Shortcuts in supported Siri languages
• Coaching with weekly pattern summaries and targeted practice. Progress shows patterns and trends from your edits; it does not promise a particular learning outcome
TRIAL AND SUBSCRIPTION
Eligible new subscribers can start a 3-day free trial, then continue with a monthly or yearly subscription. After the trial, creating new work and using writing features require an active subscription.
YOUR WORK STAYS YOURS
You do not need a subscription to read work you already created. Saved sessions remain readable and searchable; you can export your writing as Markdown, export a complete archive as JSON, or delete sessions at any time, including after a subscription ends.
ON-DEVICE BY DESIGN
Editing uses Apple's built-in on-device model when available. On other supported devices with enough memory, you can download an on-device model. Once a model is ready, text editing works offline and no Studio AM server processes your writing.
Saved sessions stay on your device unless you turn on private iCloud sync. Sync is optional and off by default; Studio AM cannot read your private iCloud database. No Studio AM account is required.
Better Writing requires iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. AI suggestions can be wrong, so review important text before using it.
