• A new, more colourful Home. • The app tour now opens each page and shows you round it. • The chapter you're reading now shows in the header on iPhone and iPad. • On iOS 26 the tab bar matches the page, and switching tabs no longer flashes a black screen. • A NeuralMap's central topic counts as read as soon as you open it. • Fixed a case where an expired sign-in could keep retrying and block signing in again.

• Clear stored data, on your Profile, can fix a page that keeps closing or reloading. You stay signed in. • If iOS has to close a page to free memory, Atlas now lets us know, so we can find and fix the cause.

• Listen: hear a chapter's notes read aloud, even with the screen locked, from the reader or the new Listen tab. • Natural-sounding AI voices, made on your iPhone or iPad, in one optional download. • A SnapCard earns its XP once read for 5 seconds, and a NeuralMap once every note is read. • A redesigned sign-in, and swiping back now moves the page with your finger.

• Sign up with email again, confirmed by a 6-digit code. • A redesigned reader and My notes, and Again / Got it on SnapCards.

Signing up • Signing up is now a single step. Choose your year of study and you are in — your college and registration number are no longer asked for up front, and you can add them to your profile whenever you like. • Sign up with Apple or Google. There is no verification email to wait for and no password to invent. Signing in • Fixed an error that could appear when opening the app while already signed in, which sometimes asked people to sign in again. • The Apple and Google buttons are a more comfortable size on phones. For educators • The educator agreement can now be accepted on iPad and other large screens, where the button to agree could previously stay greyed out. • Asking for educator access now happens in one place inside the app.

Notes and drawing • Write or draw your own notes beside any chapter. When a page fills up the notebook adds another, and you can resize the panel to suit what you are doing. • Undo and redo while typing, and an eraser that rubs out only the ink it touches rather than the whole stroke. • Annotate a figure with your Apple Pencil. • Apple Pencil: double-tap or squeeze to switch tools, following whatever you have set in Settings → Apple Pencil. Drawing is also smoother on iPad — Scribble was quietly competing with the canvas, and now steps aside while you draw. Reading tools • One Reading tools button now gathers My notes, Highlight and Laser in one place. • A laser pointer for the Apple Pencil, for pointing something out without leaving a mark. • Bookmark any topic in Swift Notes. Bookmarks sit in the topic header and are counted in the contents list. Highlighting • Drag across a passage in Swift Notes to highlight it, and tap a highlight to change its colour or remove it. • The Highlights tab collects everything you have marked and takes you straight back to it in the chapter. • Highlights now stay in place when a note is updated. Progress • A per-subject leaderboard, with a plain explanation of how XP is earned. You choose whether your name appears on it. Mind maps • Expanding a node brings its children into view, "Expand all" reaches every branch on the first press, and nodes respond to the Apple Pencil. Elsewhere • Tapping the logo takes you home. • Dialogs and panels no longer sit under the notch or the Dynamic Island.
