On tablets, the buttons along the bottom of the offline map pack screen now sit above the taskbar, so every tap reaches them. We now ask for a rating only after you have used the app on a few different days, and only with the standard system prompt.

Map pack downloads got a lot lighter. Choosing an area used to load every map cell on Earth at once. Now only the region on your screen is drawn, so the picker opens quickly, stays smooth as you pan, and uses far less memory. If the map screen ever froze or closed on you, that was why. Identification hands its memory back as soon as you are done with it, and the wildlife map is steadier.

Fixes a crash that could happen on the offline map.

Offline maps now keep every downloaded area in one map store. Areas you already downloaded are carried over automatically, so there is nothing to download again. Terrain and contour layers no longer show gaps where two areas meet. Fixes a crash while downloading map layers and a stall during batch downloads.

NEW: Advancement. Rank practice checkpoints that link straight into the guide, plus the records you are always asked for and never have at hand: service hours, nights camped, and months served in a patrol position, across eight tracked roles. Chapters rewritten for a patrol: when to get an adult and what the patrol first aid kit holds, laying out a site and running a duty roster, keeping a nature log and standing weather watch, leading your peers, and planning a service project that actually finishes. Study guide adds Patrol Leadership and Service & Advancement.

Find offline maps faster. The new Offline Area Packs menu lets you download packs near you, search for any town or city, plan a trip and grab the packs you need before you lose signal, or draw a box or route on the map to save every pack it crosses. New Sun, Moon and Tides screen shows sunrise, sunset, first and last light, moon phase, and high and low tide times for your location, worked out on your device with no signal. Tides now cover coastlines worldwide.

New Signaling tools add an SOS beacon that uses your flashlight and screen, plus a terrain aware cell signal finder that points you toward the nearest place likely to have coverage. Offline maps are more reliable, you can name and manage waypoints, and coverage estimates now account for terrain.
